However…
You are who your final record says you are… 11-1…

You play the teams you're scheduled to play…

A quick look at AP Preseason rankings (with final record in parentheses) says we beat…

#6 Notre Dame (10-2)
#9 LSU (7-5)
#13 South Carolina (4-8)
#15 Florida (4-8)

Throw in Mizzou on the road…

Our only loss was to Preseason #1 tu (9-3)

Five games against Top 15 opponents… 3 on the road…

So, at the beginning of the season we were set to play #1,6,9 on the road… #13, 15 at home…
Losing only to #1…

We would have all taken 11-1 with that pre-season schedule…

In retrospect…
The disturbing fact is that Jimbo left us with a lot of players who weren't SEC ready physically or speed-wise…

We had to rely HEAVILY on the portal, just to have better physicality… tu pushed us around all night, not just in the second half… They were more physically dominant…

Based on those portal transfers, I'm confident that our current coaching/portal regime understands the level of physicality it takes to win consistently in the SEC… We don't currently have the physicality of Georgia, or Alabama, or even tu…

We'll get there…

So many people whining that we're bad because we lost to Texas.

But anyone saying we haven't improved is just BAS talking. And I didn't realize how bad it is for a lot of y'all.

We're still an 11-1 team in the SEC. If that was so easy to do, everyone would do it on a regular basis.

There's a reason we're ranked this high. And even if it's not because we're good enough to be the best team out of 130+, we ARE at least good enough to be thrown in with the best of the best.

And that's something you can continue building on.
