Kicking game

They have been a terrible running team all year, until they met us. Their starting RB had like 450 yards all year. Against us? 155 on 19 carries, because of course.

Yep. This and the missed FG changed everything.

We've been committing stupid ass penalties all season. We survived them until we didn't. Combined with a brain dead OC, no way we beat sip.

Defensive line didn't get physically dominated. We were stunting and they hit the correct holes. LB's were all in coverage all night.

I tend to agree with you. But then it is on defensive llay caller to quit stunting as they absolutely gashed us on a half a dozen plays.

Our middling tier (at best) LBs played bad….like Arky game bad

I'd say Marcel Reed and his playcaller pretty much lost the game. He's got a big turnover problem that needs to be addressed

We went in at halftime with the lead. We needed to come out of halftime with a better offensive plan to score in the first possession of the 2nd half. Would have sucked the air out of DKR. That possession changed the course of the game not only with momentum but kept the fans in it. Half of the Sips would had left the stadium at that point guarantee if we had gone up 17-3.

I rewatched the game. It wasn't as bad as it feels. Aside from the 3rd quarter meltdown we stayed in it until the interception.

Offense not moving the ball and left our defense on the field way too long.

Not having a power runner (Moss) hurt. Sips defense was too good for us to be one dimensional.

Multiple false starts by the OL killed drives.

First play of the second half. Reed could have scrambled for a 5-6 yard gain, and maybe more. But instead, he threw a pass no one could catch. That set the stage for his miserable performance for the remainder of the game.

if t.u. had a better QB it would have been 40-17. Arch sucks and he helped keep us in the game until late.

(1) Our "elite" OC - Klein

(2) Our "defensive guru" - Elko

(3) Our QB - Mond (oops sorry, Marcell) = "potato, potato"

Have you watched our short yardage offense the last couple of years? Far from "no chance."

But, yeah, we still should have gone for it. I agree.

The 3rd and 2 throw to Concepcion really was an eff up of massive proportions.

There's another play nobody is talking about. Early in 4th Q 2nd and short and Reed dropped back. Owens was absolutely wide open short to his left with nothing but green for a good 10-15 yards and either a bad pass or ball slips out of his hand and he throws it at Owens feet. 2 plays later we punt, and Texas scores on the next series.

Another moment of course is the kickoff penalty which totally changed field position and we never got a replay or explanation.

Fact is it was a team loss. Lotsa blame to go around but Reed in particular needs to be better

Lol. Then if we had a better QB and our elite RB not injured, we would've beat sips 40-17.

I think the 2nd half defense costed us the most because we allowed 285 total yards (128 passing and 157 rushing) and 24 points to Texas after holding them to 112 total yards (51 passing and 61 rushing) and 3 points in the 1st half.

Yeah, just inches from sacking arch on that 35 yd td run.

We played their game not ours. 4 man pass rushes on 3rd and long is not why this team was 11-0

Exactly!!! That was not our brand of football team and scheme out there. We totally played into their hands.
