Honestly, I don't know of a better realistic hire they'd go after at this point. He's done well at BYU, though not replacing James Franklin well...

If they don't get him, it might really be entertaining to see who they end up settling for.

Just a couple weeks ago people were saying Rhule was the guy then Elko now they are going to have to outbid BYU. BYU is probably a better job. They can probably match any PSU offer and the path to the playoffs is far easier.

I doubt BYU will cough up a whole lot more to keep him. I could be wrong but the school's main purpose is education and spiritual edification. Many examples of the school booting players out for braking the honor code. The sports programs seem secondary to that purpose, but let's see how that plays out.

The mormons have more money than God. It'd be a drop in the bucket to outbid PSU.

They are reportedly paying basketball player AJ Dybansta between $7-9M for this year. Don't let the whole Mormon thing fool you - they pay for sports.

This... And having the owner of the Jazz as a major NIL donor doesn't hurt.

It is hard to imagine BYU not being Sitake's dream job. He played there and being in the Big XII, the path to consistently get into the playoffs is pretty easy. As long as the money is comparable, I do not see him going anywhere.
