The only way we play ND is if Alabama loses and the committee decides to not ding them a single spot.

Alabama wins, they jump us and Georgia is still ranked ahead. Pushing us to 8.

BYU wins, they push ND out entirely

What is the actual chance we play ND? Seems unlikely

Not hard to imagine them not penalizing Alabama. They used "gutsy 4th down" as a means to move them up.

I agree but they also love ND. They'd love to have a reason to flip them back to how they were in order to keep ND out of the Miami "tier"…. I'd be so pissed if I was a Miami fan. They are getting absolutely hosed by ND

They moved Bama up specifically so they could ding them for a loss, but still keep them in the playoff if they lose. So ya if Bama loses they will flip spots with ND.

Moving bama up also allows the committee to avoid a VERY uncomfortable situation of having ND and Miami next to each other in rankings. If bama loses, they can drop them back down behind ND. Assuming BYU loses, they drop but now bama is a buffer between ND and Miami - so the committee can conveniently say the h2h doesn't come into play if not right next to each other in the rankings.

Get ready to host Alabama in the Saturday night game on Dec 20.

The Irish move up to 9 to play at ou. That's the afternoon game.

Oregon hosts the g5 team on Friday night and Ole Miss gets Virginia in the noon Saturday game.

Assuming the home teams win, we play #2 Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.

Oregon vs Tech is the Fiesta bowl probably.

Ou/ND winner plays #1 Ohio or Indiana.
And
Ole Miss plays Indiana in the Cotton Bowl.

The move of Bama was to allow them to stay with a loss. ND or maybe Tech is out if BYU wins but BYU isn't a high seed. They planned ahead.

Why is ND ranked ahead of Vandy? Vandy's two losses were to Bama by 6 at Bama and to tu by 3 at tu. ND aldo at 10-2 lost to us at home and handpicked their entire schedule.

Because Vandy is Vandy, Bama is Bama, and ND is ND.

The ags and vandy both screwed up massively losing to the sips. Gonna cost both of us.

It clearly isn't how the bracket will shake out. You really think the committee wants to see three matchups. We've already seen this year?

Ole Miss/Tulane
OU/Bama
A&M/ND

Finally someone who gets it. Make no mistake, ESiPN is driving this whole thing. Finebaum is an ESiPN employee. Early in the season he was ragging on Manning and tu. Monday he was advocating for tu playoff inclusion and agreeing with everything Sark said. Why? Because his bosses gave him a directive. They want ratings. They don't give a damn what's fair. I welcome a rematch with ND. The only team I hate more than tu and LSU is the Domers. Their fans have been crying all season that Aggie win was a fluke. How sweet would it be to bring a$$e$ down to Kyle and punk them again.

Been saying this for awhile as obvious per our #3 ranking prior to tu game and called once losing to tu we'd drop to 7 and maybe even lower (as there's that much subjectivity in all of this...we had a bad Nov vs other teams .... USCe was bad as proved we aren't a top 5 team and only top 12 team to lose last weekend).

ND would love a rematch as their QB is better, they won't futz up not using RBs 'more' and they know about our WRs now (tu gave the blueprint). Personally, that would be about the worst 1st rd matchup for A&M and hope it doesn't stick.
