Why we should be ahead of Ole Miss in the rankings...

1/ Higher ranked all year...
2/ Identical records...
3/ We had a tougher road schedule - 4-1 vs 3-1
4/ We outplayed Ole Miss vs Common opponents: They beat LSU by 5 at home, we won by 25 on the road. They beat Florida by 10 at home, we won by 17 on the road.
5/ Other opponents all within margin of error - beat Arkansas by 3 on road, they won by 6 at home. We beat Ms State by 22 at home, they won on road by 19... all even wash.
6/ They played 2 tough road games... GA (lost), and Okie (won by 10). Ms State & Kentucky were easy road victories.
7/ We played 4 tough road games... ND (won), LSU (won), Mizzou (won), and TX (lost).
8/ Ole miss more explosive, A&M more balanced - Ole miss 11th offense, 51st defense, A&M 16th offense, 31st defense.
9/ Against ranked teams, we out performed them on the field - 4-1 against ranked teams, they were 3-1.
10/ Against ranked teams, they scored 34points and gave us 28 (6.3 point differential). We scored 38 and gave us 28.2 (9.8 point differential).

This all comes down to recent optics... we lost our last game, they won their last, but any way you slice it, we were the better team. We simply got punished more in the end. Let's see if committee re-evaluates these stats in the final week.

Tech is how you know the committee has no clue what they're doing. Worst loss off any 1-loss team by far. Have played no one.

Also, they are missing their HC! The whole thing ticks me off.

I really don't like the idea of 16 teams, but I'd be willing to move to it to pretty much eliminate the effect of the idiots on the committee.

OK. Come up with the metrics and have the software do it. No "eye test", recency bias, etc...

*NEWSFLASH*

The Ags will have to roll off a couple more years dominating good/great teams, Im afraid. There is a stigma around this program. All you have to do is read what fans post here to understand it.

While this year was amazing, we were not dominate enough to wipe the residue. The tu loss gave outsiders (and many insiders) all they needed to doubt our "for real-ness".

Make a run to the big game this year in a convincing manner and MAYBE some progress is made.

Not fair but it is reality.

agree 100%.
Mass blast in every F'n direction, including all the Josh Pates, the Film Guy, the On3's, and all that YouTube stuff.

I hate seeing t.u. all over the place, with the major branding names and relationships. Allstate, Bud Light, Dr Pepper, etc. etc. etc.
But you gotta give t.u. credit in that regard, they know how to market and keep the brand out there.

For what it's worth, Resume SP+ (which is basically Bill C's strength-of-performance rankings rather than his predictive SP+) has us at 5, a little bit ahead of Georgia and Ole Miss but quite a bit behind Oregon and Texas Tech.

I strongly believe running up the score matters big time. Indiana and Texas Tech do it whenever they can. It shows dominance and depth. It matters. Stop giving up 24 and 22 to the UTSAs and Utah States of the world. One score wins vs Auburn, Arkansas, and South Carolina simply dont look good. Giving up garbage TDs to LSU snd Missouri dont look good.

Bad sportsmanship? Look where that got Indiana and Texas Tech. No one cares about sportsmanship and class. Committee members and fans wanna see total dominance. It pays.

Ole Miss lost to #3 Georgia in game 7.
We lost to t.u. in game 12.
The eye test says they're a better team.
