I for one am over the Lamar Brown sweepstakes, but interesting that he would remain committed all this time and then delay his signing this week. I have no idea if this is cracking opening the door for A&M or if this is just a formality as Brown waits for the staff to come together at LSU before signing. Either way we could still use a DT in the class.

Edit: saw this was mentioned previously in another post so I'll phrase the question this way: thoughts on if Lamar does hold his commitment to LSU and if we don't get him, where else can we turn for a DT in the class?

If its a money thing, I'd pay him twice what LSU is offering just to take him from Kiffin. He's the top rated player in the nation.

OR... he wants to see who their future DC will be since Blake Baker has been offered the Tulane job.

This is all it is, LSU media is reporting that this isn't a money issue. They just want to wait and find out who is going to coach the defense and who their position coach will be. I fully expect them both to sign with the Tigers once the dust settles.

I think we focus on portal for any area where we whiff on likely early impact kids. I think we work the portal hard again this go-round as it's clear we still need some high impact upgrades to replace departing upperclassmen and put us over the top.

They've gotta be running out of children's hospitals soon. I'm sure they've already moved on to the cancer centers and the like by now though.

All 5 of their unsigned recruits signed today. They must have come to terms on their increased NIL money.
