The dude is a burner. Seems a bit underrated with that combo of size & elite speed

He could be great but texags always makes me laugh on recruits:
He likes or committed to us: looks great on film (which is called a highlight package), or is "underrated"
Decommits from us: overrated, we are full at said position

The next time you post on a thread that adds some slither of fact based insight will be your first. Shut it down and call it a night, Junior.
I don't deny the desire for more depth, I just don't see anything on the film to suggest this kid is likely to 1. Ever be an SEC power back and 2. Is anywhere close to KJ Edwards. That said, this is a chaotic sport, so quality depth makes for quality teams. I think Riden has the chops to be a finisher back, but I also think a power back is amongst the easier niche roles to find, whether it's Mike Washington NMSt to Arky, Jaden Baugh going from LB to RB, Ahmad Hardy ULM to Mizz, and that's mentioning three high end guys, much less a narrow role like EJSmith.90ags said:
We need another RB and its not even debatable. Losing Hatton (sp) was problematic as need a bigger back and we'll either get a HS or a txfr in the portal (or both).
We have no replacement for Moss, but hoping Tiger pans out.

Looks like a nice developmental prospect. Good long speed, and some patience setting up blocks (the #1 skill I look for once SEC level physical skills are met).
That said, IMO, A&M is fine at running back and I think this kid's role is already filled by Morrow and Edwards, and I think Riden is fine as a power back. Obvious qualification regarding injury and knuckleheadery, Edwards is a three year player and has immediate impact skills. I advocated for Morrow in the preseason as the #2 back, and stand by it. I think the kid is very good. If Edwards picks up protections quickly, he'll surpass Morrow by mid season and will only remain behind Owens in short yardage situations, and maybe bc Owens gets a loyalty bump. Edwards will step onto the practice field, day one, as the most gifted back in the program, and it's not particularly close.

You're right, and…. It's impossible to tell from HS film whether an athlete will commit to putting in the hard work it takes to get to the next level. THAT is the secret to talent evaluation. Those that we call "busts" were great in HS but not up to the challenge.

Reading the 247 scouting report, it sounds like he's a bit raw, but an incredible athlete. Big, strong, and fast. RUNS A BIT TOO HIGH.
Theyll need to fudge some numbers if that's ahead of sip.Logos Stick said:

stop whining. This kid looks really good. And is definitely faster than Hatton whether you like it or not.Hill08 said:5 4 said:

Lol. Oh foh. This kid appears better than Owen, Morrow, and Riden. Tired of slow RBs. KJ Edwards and Carsyn Baker will be a dangerous combo, and both could be RB1 & RB2 next year.npc said:

I cannot decide if you, Noah or Maroon whatever are the worse posters on here. I just don't understand why you are even here. Is complaining to your family about everything not covering it?

Just wanted to step in and say Owens is super fast being clocked at 21.5mph which was highest in the NCAA against a mizzou. But I don't want to disturb the cat fight lol

Three rbs for a season is hardly enough. Youre just asking fir trouble with that paper thin of a depth chart. Need at least 4 SEC-level for rotation and 2 in development. Minimum.
Rbs get nicked and hurt ALL the time. Every year.

Speed doesn't do much if you can't read blocks well and trip on your own feet.
