There were zero smirks, zero change in voice, nothing to look like he was being anything other than direct. If it something else then I never want to play poker or negotiate with that man

Think Elko pushing back on that we need him thru CFPs....any program needing a coach wants them immediately to start laying the groundwork, developing connections with current players and new recruits.

Do think Klein still goes, but Elko even stated not a done deal.

Exactly. He does not have Klein's number. His people has Klien's agent's number. So not a lie. And once he becomes HC, the AD will then have his number.

klein is staying through the playoffs. same with every coordinator from oregon and ohio state that got head coaching jobs

If this guy does not contact Klein for the job, he would not have a job the day after their new coach was announced. What a weird answer to that question...

The calendar needs to be changed. Coaches leaving for another team this late should not be allowed. Finish the season and stop being distracted from your ultimate goal with your current team. You can't tell me that this hasn't been in the background for a week or so prior to the TU game. If it has, then you best believe that Klein has been thinking it over and it affected his coaching ability. No way you can fully immerse yourself in the game and play calling duties knowing that you are about to leave to your alma mater to go be the head coach. This could end up being a Kingsbury style hire that could backfire for both.

I know the allure of leaving to coach your alma mater and I do believe that K State would love it if Klein was their Bill Snyder in waiting as would any school. I believe that's what Klein wants and believes he can do which definitely reeks of his mind not fully being invested into the TU game.
