Benefits of bringing in former head coaches?

Saban routinely brought in former head coaches as quality control, assistants, or coordinators with much success. My question for the forum is two parts:

1) are there any fired coaches who would be beneficial to Texas A&M's football operations, and

2) how do you integrate a former "head man" as a subordinate? Have you ever hired a former CEO to run a component of your business and struggled with conflicts of leadership visions?

I posted something similar the day Franklin was let go. The Zoo doesn't like consultants apparently.

You have to remember that the Zoo has dozens of coaches, coordinators and athletic directors posting here.

The depth and breadth of football knowledge here is breathtaking.
