If T Tech loses to BYU how far do they drop?

While I expect T Tech to win this game, if they lose would they stay above the Ags?

Ags would have better wins, better losses, tougher schedule and fewer losses but I have a feeling committee would not drop them that much for losing a conf championship game which would be incredibly ridiculous.

Agree and the screw job would get even worse I am afraid.

I'm not sold on T Tech yet because their conf is not that great. But to be fair, I have not watched them play much this year.

If Tech loses, they probably drop to 10 or they're out. BYU would probably jump to 9. Neither brings the eyeballs of ND and Miami.

I've heard experts say that teams probably won't be punished much for playing in conf championship game though.

And I think that is BS when you are already playing in a soft conference.

losing on a neutral field as 13-point favorite...

should drop Tech several spots behind the 1-loss SEC teams

and BYU should vault ahead of them

something like...

if Bama loses:

5. Ole Miss
6. A&M
7. BYU
8. Tech
9. OU
10. Bama

if Bama wins:

5. Oregon
6. Ole Miss
7. A&M
8. BYU
9. Tech
10. OU

If BYU wins, they should be the 4 seed. That would give them three Top 25 wins over Tech, Utah, and Arizona. With their sole loss being an away game at a Top 5 team.

I'd say they would drop to max 6th, maybe 7th but would bump us back. Punishing for losing a game when most aren't playing is a bad narrative to set

the sips only moved up 3 spots for beating #3

don't think BYU would jump more than 3 or 4 spots for beating #4

perhaps enough to get a home game at Tech's expense

The committee has said that the conference game is just another data point. I take that as the committee will twist the bracket to fit their narrative. Not sure they care about the narrative anymore.

hopefully the committee cares enough to avoid rematches

BYU is really bad. I don't think they moved past the 50 last time they played tech

BYU jumps us with a win. Tech stays ahead of us with a loss. We aren't getting any benefit of the doubt here. Recency bias is a *****.

I've heard both. No one really knows. These committees are FOS. Any year. Letting ND in in 2020 was a egregious as dropping us 4 now.

There is zero chance the Big 10 gets byes for all its teams.

So add that to the illogical juggling that the committee will be doing

Why does anyone think BYU, Utah or Tech are good teams? Who have they beat that was actually a good team?

Depends on which team.

BYU cant beat Tech
Nothing looks more foolish than tradition to those who have none.

Did you watch the first time they played. BYU could not even get the ball past the 50 yard line. The game is in Texas. Yet, you still make this thread.

Here's my opinion....if the committee is suppose to not be punishing teams for losing a conference championship....then its only right that you dont reward teams for winning a conference championship. It cant be just one way. Thats not fair. It either counts or it doesnt. So if youre not gonna penalize a team for losing or reward a team for winning the conference title....everyone should stay the same after the conference title games.

There can be movement.

The conference champ game loser protection is not they cannot move in the rankings. It's more they should not be taken totally out of the playoffs if they were already in them. Such as Bama right now.

Techs winning the game but the teams that have the most concern if BYU were to win are Notre Dame and Miami. It would knock out both of them and no more bickering on why Notre Dame is ahead of Miami in the rankings. Much easier to knock Notre Dame out if they had the last spot and were behind Bama.

I think the Bama Notre Dame flip this past week in the rankings was for this exact scenario. Just in case BYU wins.

Now after this weekend and assuming BYU loses. And let's say Bama loses. They will flip Notre Dame and Bama again to avoid two regular season rematches.

Bama will be coming to Kyle.

So if you hate Notre Dame and want them out of the playoff. You actually are rooting for BYU.

I think the whole thing is stupid though bc Miami should already be above them.

It's CFP Committee. Fair has nothing to do with it.

Bama and the ND/Miami situation are the biggest question marks on what the committee will do.

If Bama wins - are you really not going to give the SEC champ a first round bye? Does Georgia fall out of top 4? No SEC first round? Does Ole Miss jump up? Is it really OSU, Indiana, and Oregon with first round byes?

If Duke wins - are you really keeping ACC out? Will Miami finally jump ND with the head to head? Would the committee really leave ND out to save the ACC's only shot?

Chaos!

The committee is absolutely biased against the sec. They probably hate the idea of 5 sec teams in the playoff. There should be 7.

It really all comes down to is does someone on the committee like/hate your team/conference. There's no logic here. We replaced bcs with a bunch of karens.
Oh, but this was supposed to REDUCE the complaints! After all, below #12 no one was going to have a legitimate claim they were #1, so this solved that MNC issue!

(And replaced it with something even dumber and more corrupt and less beneficial to the sport.)

Tech would drop to six and A&M remains at seven.

Utah sucks ass. Did they beat anyone? And Arizona is only ranked because the committee is morons. Tech as the highest 1 loss is absolutely moronic. Their only quality win is BYU in a conference of cupcakes. Everything about the big cupcake is based on nobody considering the extreme weakness of the conference. Nobody had a quality OOC win. In fact, the majority didn't even schedule non-con P4 matchups.

Trash league with two paper tiger teams.
