Almost every time an SEC team and a Big Ten team have a equal record, but the SEC team has a stronger SORecord and SOSchedule than the Big Ten team has, the Big Ten team is ranked higher.

This has happened to us twice so far this year: 1) OSU, Indiana ranked higher than us when we are all with zero losses, and 2) Oregon is ranked higher than us with an equal record.

Am I missing something or are the poll and playoff folks drinking Big 10 Koolaid?

As for us vs OSU and Indiana, they occupied those slots before we did and there wasn't a significant differentiator to separate 3 0-loss teams. We just climbed up behind but never past.

As for all the 1 loss teams… recency bias. We lost more recently so we got knocked down (arguably farther than we should). But now we're slotted in with a bunch of 1 loss teams and probably not moving much again.

B1G has won the last 2 national championships and they have the only 2 undefeated teams. Even the most mid of national talking heads acknowledges the SEC is much deeper and the bottom half of the B1G is putrid.

But undefeated is undefeated and we're currently in the massively unbalanced era of conference schedules so that's the way it goes

The B1G did a much better job with their own network. Not reliant on ESipN

Because they're sick and tired of the rest of the conferences and fans screaming SEC bias. They have purposely propped up the B1G so they can claim other conferences are just as good. See Oregon's ranking as a roadblock to either osu or Indiana falling even further down if either team gets boat raced today, and Desmond's rant this morning, SOS be dammed.

Only partly right. Indiana jumped us after their only worthy win of the season at Oregon.

The SEC is the convenient villain. You can only reign supreme so long before everyone else wants to see you toppled. So the rest of the country is actively rooting against the SEC.

Seems like that's more of an ATM thing than an SEC thing. Still think the national perception of the Aggies is the problem. Recent loss combined with brand perception results in doubt for rankings etc. Isn't Georgia the top ranked 1 loss team? That kind of confirms the point.

It's interesting. The Massey composite ranking of about 40 human and computer polls actually goes 1-3 with Big Ten schools.

With so few interconference games, the few there are must really fall in favor of the Big Ten.

Everyone counts Ls in a vacuum.

Play a largely uncompetitive BIG schedule like Indiana and OSU and you get rewarded for all those games vs Northwestern, Purdue, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Maryland, Michigan St, Minn..etc

Its the oldest trick in the book in how college football and dismilar schedules are perceived
