So unless OSU and IU look like crap tonight and the committee has the balls to kick Bama out of the playoff, our 1st 2 rounds are going to be Bama and Georgia? How boring and cannibalizing is that? This committee must just hate the SEC if they pull that stunt. Not to mention, I have a hard time seeing us get past Georgia. Does anyone else think that this is a bit ridiculous that they wouldn't want to try to schedule some more out of conference matchups?

Not likely just because of that schedule.
Edited: meaning the SEC office would not "appreciate" it.

If we stay 7 and everything stays the same in the top 4 and bama gets in it would be bama and Indiana I think

Point is GA will pass IU if they lose

UGA will definitely be 2 after today. B10 winner will be 1, loser will be 3.

Unless the committee does something crazy like drop Bama for Miami, then yes. It will be Alabama (or ND) at Kyle Field.

Last hope is Indiana to get absolutely smoked and embarrassed to the point where they look like frauds. The committee could potentially make them the lowest ranked 1-loss team. I wouldn't want to hear a "but they played an extra game excuse" since almost their entire season is a bye week for an above average team.

I think if OSU loses close, it's IU 1, OSU 2, UGA 3

If IU gets blown out, Tech could be 3 and IU or Oregon at 4. A close loss should put IU at 3 and leave Tech at 4.

Doubt the committee is concerned about a Big Ten semifinal match-up and may prefer it over an all Big Ten final.

Miami and ND should be in before Bama. Having said that, I'd love to play the Tide at Kyle Field.

1 - tOSU
2 - GA
3 - IND
4 - tceh

5 - 11 who knows what committee will do
12 - Toolane

11 - Virginia / Tulane
12 - Tulane / James Madison

Those 2 seeds - not rankings - are basically locked.

I can't wait for the CFP committee critics to hammer home their dumbassery.
If they could properly evaluate teams and rank them accordingly the first and tomorrow's rankings wouldn't look like different years.

1 - OSU
2 - GA
3 - Indy
4 - TT

I can't imagine anybody leaving this top tier unless Big 10 game is massacre.

5 - Oregon - Can't see them moving unless Big 10 game is blowout. Then it will just swap Big 10 teams.

6, 7 - Ole Miss, A&M. Tulane winning means there is little chance of a flip-flop, but possible.

8 - OU shouldn't move up or down.

9, 10 - this is only part that's interesting. Alabama, Irish and Miami.

11, 12 - Virginia, Tulane
11, 12 - Tulane, JMU

I have a hard time seeing a rematch against Notre Dame. Only scenario is Bama drops two spots, out of tournament. AND the committee has Miami leapfrog Notre Dame.

I think Bama goes 10 and ND 9. Miami up to 11 but still a gap between ND and Miami so H2H doesn't matter

So we will just have to beat Bama and uga in the first 2 games....niiiiice.

I think we can do this. Better draw than ND, Georgia or ND, Indiana

Miami can't be 11. 11and 12 belong to Tulane, VA, or JMU.

If Duke beats Vir, why would 2 group of 5 teams get in vs putting in another P4 team in place of ACC bid? I know they were promised 1 spot. Would make no sense to give them 2 spots

We're getting Bama or Miami unless the committee does their homework.

So we'll get Bama or Miami.

5 highest ranked conference CHAMPIONS. If Duke wins, the 5 highest conference championship are OSU/IU, GA, TT, Tulane, James Madison UNLESS they rank currently unranked Duke above current #25 James Madison.

And unless Miami jumps Bama, the ACC will have ZERO teams in the playoff.

I really can't see the committee putting Ags v Bama, then winner plays Georgia. They won't do a 3-peat possibility.

It's either gonna be ND/Miami at 10 or 2 will be anybody but Georgia. If IU wins a close one, I see OSU dropping to 2

it's 10-6 OSU at half. If OSU wins by 7 or less I don't think they drop Indiana. I don't think Alabama is a great team. Tough to drop Indiana losing a close game to #1.

USA Today projects both Miami AND Notre Dame in with Bama out...and Notre Dame AHEAD of Miami...So if that projection simehow happens, they will have gotten everything wrong.

They cant knock out an SEC team for losing in the CCG for an ACC team thats at home watching Duke play Virginia. That would be ****ing insane.

And the Miami Notre Dame thing is just nuts. If they are side-by-side and ND is above Miami that would necessarily mean they just made up that stupid "competitive grouping" thing.

Notre Dame has to be out.

They say they wont penalize teams for CCG losses and head-to-head is the #1 criteria for teams in the same "grouping".

ND should be penalized for not being in a conference and Bama should be in because making the SEC CCG should be a de facto auto-bid no matter how the game goes.

Bama should be dropped. They have 3 losses, and the argument that the Conference Championship shouldn't work against you becomes moot when you only earned the spot through a 3-way tie by winning a tiebreaker.

Bama shouldn't be excluded because they lost to Georgia. They should be excluded because they lost to an awful Florida State OOC. And, for good measure, they didn't just lose to Georgia. They got manhandled.

Bama and tu both are trying to argue their best loss, when in fact, it is their worst loss that should exclude them.

Assuming that the weight doesn't change throughout the spectrum, I think strength of schedule can be misleading. If, for example, one team played the 75th, 80th, and 85th ranked team in non-conference, while another teamed played the 95th, 100th, and 105th ranked teams, then Team 1 would have a better SOS than Team 2, although in reality both teams had three easy wins.

Again, I just don't buy that argument when the only reason you got to the SEC CCG was through a tiebreaker....

AND, you got beat by a crappy team OOC.

The SEC CCG isn't a Golden Goose that gives the loser an auto-key to the CFP, especially if that losing team has a bad OOC loss.

4-way tie for 1st.

And I'll add they were manhandled in loss to Florida State. Final difference was 14 points, but it seemed like 30.

And throw in the Auburn game. Alabama has been unimpressive for last eight quarters.

The last time they looked great was Vandy win. They've looked pretty good for several games.

I think we know what the idiocracy committee will do, but based on what I have seen today, they should realize how much better the SEC is after watching these two CCG's. What it should look like.

1. UGA
2. OSU/IU
3. TCEH
4. OSU/IU
5. A&M
6. Oregon
7. Ole Miss
8. OU
9. ND
10. Bama
11. UVA/Tulane
12. Tulane/JMU

I had written 4, and then dropped it to 3. Forgot about Georgia, since they won.

But it serves to reinforce the point. Two teams get in, basically by drawing the good straw, and they're somehow insulated moving forward?

Georgia would have stayed in had they lost, and deservingly so, as they don't have a bad loss. Bama does.
