If I am in a Power 4 conference, why would I play Notre Dame? Everyone is doing them a favor playing them. If they don't play us or Miami, do they make the playoffs? If they do, the committee is a joke.. if they don't, and they shouldn't because they didn't earn it, join a stinking conference.

The best thing the SEC, Big Ten, ACC and big 12 could do is to refuse to play Notre Dame.

It's 2025. History and Rudy be damned. I don't think it's fair or OK for Notre Dame to not be in a conference at this point.

I avoid temptation unless I can’t resist it.

Meh, the idea of an Independent is part of what makes college football unique. I like it, quit trying to get rid of these fun quirks.

I hate non-alum ND fans who are Catholic and who root for them solely for that reason. Signed, a Catholic ND hater who has extended family who is in that boat.

If nd played 2 scrubs instead of A&M and Miami not only would they be in, they'd probably be in the top 4 getting a bye

ND is affiliated with the ACC in most sports
And plays a handful of ACC teams every year in football
I looked at their schedule this year they played Miami, Pitt, BC , Nc State, Syracuse Stanford
ACC is at 17 teams in football they just need to go ahead ND as a full football member

If I'm Sankey, especially after Alabama gets left out, I ban all SEC teams from scheduling Notre Dame. If anybody in SEC has Notre Dame on future schedule, SEC would pay the exit fee. Adios Irish.

Other conferences would follow pretty quickly.

They were invited into the ACC has a part of a scheduling arrangement by the ACC commissioner, in hopes of boosting viewers, money, and prestige to the slightly, floundering league.

Wouldn't matter if the SEC boycotted ND plays 6 ACC games
Purdue , USC , Navy every year

They only need 3 games a year
They could easily pick that up from MAC , B1G and BDF

Yes, of course, they make the playoff. See Texas Tech, who is in after playing absolutely no one.

In addition to their ACC slate, they also played 2 SEC teams and 2 Big10 teams. They aren't playing a whole season of FCS teams. Plus, if we hadn't beat ND, we may not be in the playoff discussion.
