Watching IU celebrate makes me realize how close we were to being in that same position. It could have been us undefeated in year two of a coach's tenure, celebrating a conference championship.

Maybe if we get Moss and Scooby back, it can be us on January 19

It should've been us and I was at the game in Austin last week and it sucked ass. But unfortunately, it wasn't us and we have to move forward. But yes, I was more irritated today than I thought I would be at the championship game.

Yeah…. We clearly watched the SEC championship game differently

But that would've required beating Georgia in the CCG (and Texas the week prior)...maybe next year

If we beat Texas we would have played Alabama in the SEC championship and not Georgia

We've been in the driver's seat multiples times in the last 3 decades and have found a way to sh.t the bed every single time.

They sure as hell wouldn't get down 30 by SC. Our defense isn't top 5 quality yet. We are headed in the right direction but we aren't there yet.

Still can't assume we'd beat them without Moss.

We have 4 more games to go, and the Ags can win all of them. It'd be nice to win the conference, but it'll be better to win the CFP.

We have lost four games in a row where a berth in a championship game was on the line.

Put me in the "I'll believe it when I finally see it" camp for winning ANY of playoff game with this season's group.

Good on them for winning so many regular season games, but it looks like they're afraid of success.

I'm assuming that you mean 4 games, unless your plan is to lose in the semifinals...?

We aren't playing the same caliber football as these other top teams. We don't play with their discipline, consistency, decisiveness, or level of execution. I believe the gap we need to close to get to that level is larger than most people think.

I agree to some extent, but IU's O sure didn't light up the scoreboard tonight.

We're just playing a lot of Mid guys, because we're in Year 2 of a rebuild.

respectfully diagree...but I get it.

The Texas loss stings bad...but dont let that dilute the rest of it...compared to the field, what this team has done is very impressive.

Beating teams like Arkansas, LSU, Mizzu, and Auburn is way tougher than Purdue, Wiconsin, Northwestern, Michigan State, etc...B10 is loaded with cupcakes.

We have to play NFL talent every week.

And if they say Notre Dame is a top 10 team and 8n the playoff and t.u. is #11...how are we #7?

Would have been nice to play a garbage QB like Sayin who has looked like crap against the only two halfway decent defenses he's faced. I actually think Arch might be better at this point in time.

Two teams who cakewalked through schedules that make the Big 12 jealous. Pillow fighting tonight.

I was having a very hard time determining whether Indiana or Ohio State was exceptionally good. They are good for sure. But would be 2 loss teams during normal SEC play.

Today's winner for the General Board Burrito Lottery is:

Im tired of comments like this, but I'd get banned if I said what I really thought about them.

Leave it to Aggies to complain about the team that's taken them farther than any other in decades with a top 5% all time record. I swear some of you wouldn't even know what to do with yourselves if you couldn't complain.

We didn't play anywhere near our best game on either side of the ball. THAT made a huge difference. If we had played better against tu or played the game closer we would have been the 6 seed, beat a cupcake, and advanced more easily in the CFP. Just a little more would have meant a lot. And we didn't get it done. Now our pathway is through Bama and Georgia. Not good.

It's really, really hard to tell - I agree.

I wouldn't be surprised to see both do well in the playoffs.
I also wouldn't be surprised to see both lose their first round matchups.

This year, more than most, feels like a year where so much of the rankings is based on what we expected teams to be, probably because so much of the top end of the original top 25 did terribly this year.
