If all other results were the same through the season, ND would have been in as an 11-1 team.
I mean it's pretty straightforward that we'd be out and ND in. We'd be one of the grumpy two loss teams and they'd be in with only one loss

I had initially expected any 10-2 SEC team to be let in (and vigorously argued as much - I'll admit I was dead wrong), but given how the committee ranked us along the way (always at the bottom of the list with teams with the same record), it's clear we'd have likely been behind 3 loss tu right next to vandy.

I resolve in 2026 to be more tolerant and respectful of trolls and emotionally fragile, overly pessimistic posters so they don’t run crying to the mods and have me banned for three days.
We were the lowest rated one loss team so it's very likely we would have been one of the lowest rated two loss teams. So yes, highly likely the ND game is th only reason we are in the playoffs let alone playing at home. So much for not scheduling hard non conference teams.
There's usually close calls for any major sporting run. We did it - won 11 games. Sitting around saying the "we were this close to not making it" game is as usless as 3 or 4 loss teams saying "we were this close to winning a couple more games."

It's what people who predicted us to suck and are mad we are good do. They should be either mocked or ignored.
Good thing they missed an extra point.

Losing to ND, or losing to SC woulda kept us out at 10-2.
OP, what if you didn't post again? Curious minds.
Who knows how a loss in that game changes the mentality for the rest of the season. Too many subsequently related variables to predict outcomes.

Non sequitur. If we'd scheduled an easier opponent and beaten them to go 11-1, we'd probably still be in the playoff. Can you imagine an 11-1 SEC team being left out? If there's one thing we know the committee doesn't care about, it's strength of schedule.rootube said:

My favorite part is how Bisontis got away with a blatant hold on the game winner…That's the way modern day(2025) blue bloods should be treated at Notre Dame's house..

And this is what is sad to me. Look forward to boring non-conference games.
That game is the biggest reason (and maybe sole reason) we are in the playoffs.
