Yes, it's the herpes of all fan afflictions.

I think BAS really started in 1975 with an unbeaten, #2 ranked team. We beat the Horns 20-10. But one game remained with Arkansas. Arkansas had started slow that year and if we had played when originally scheduled in October, I think we win. But the game was moved (for TV reasons, I think) to be week after the Sips. The Ags were flat after the big win on Thanksgiving and turned over the ball several times on the way to a 31-6 final score favoring Arkansas.

I don't know if there was ever a year prior with expectations that high. For me, that was absolutely the start of BAS.

If we win the Natty there has to be some bit about BAS commiserating with Clemsoning.

BAS - Alive and Well Since 1940.

1995 was when I learned of BAS. Start the year ranked 3rd. Lose to Colorado in game where we knock out their starter and the backup plays incredible and we drop passes left and right. Then lose at Tech with an INT returned with 30 seconds in the game by Zach Thomas, starting a trend of almost always losing to Tech for years ahead. Then we lose the final game of the regular season for the final SWC championship to tu at Kyle.
