Someone say this is a great hire, and we are good please.
I know nothing about Kentucky's offense, let alone their tight ends.
But after a quick google search, I did find this article:

Title: After years of hype, Kentucky football's tight ends are finally being featured
Quote:
The program's long-time tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator, who promised big seasons from his position group on a near-annual basis, is coaching for the Wildcats' archrival this season.
But somehow, three games into the 2025 season, Kentucky's tight ends are poised for their most prolific season in almost 20 years.
"They're good players," new tight ends coach Derek Shay said. "I know that's a simple answer, but they're good players. …It's not about me. I mean, those guys are really good players. And they're playing at a high level because of who they are."

Senior Josh Kattus leads Kentucky with eight catches for 112 yards through three games. The eight catches already have tied his career high for an entire season...
There are a lot more interesting details about other TEs seeing a
sudden increase of production this season with Derek Shay. I think it's safe to say, man can coach.
But he seems to have been in Kentucky for only one season, so it's difficult to say just
how good he actually is. Hopefully someone can find Kentucky fans' reaction to Shay's departure to get a better feel for how good this hire is.
