I think Clay Travis hit the nail on the head about Notre Dame. They can't stay an independent and expect to receive the same treatment that other Power 4 teams receive. Note Dame should join the ACC or Big 10 or shut up.

Everyone else has evolved to survive in the environment. They can choose to not do so, I guess.

The Rose Bowl kept trying to hold out to have a perpetual 2 PM New Year's Day game. It took the threat of being left out of the CFP to finally give up and change.

Notre Dame is next. Or, they could be like the Ivy League schools and hold to their principles and put academics first.

What decent teM will want to schedule them in future? Therw is minimal reward to scheduling a good out if conf game so i suspect the ND schedule going forward is going to be real weak which should hurt their SOS and impact playoff chances

Didn't the CFP agree ND gets an autobid if they are ranked 12 or higher going forward? ND is still getting special treatment.

Every conf - to my knowledge - will be playing 9 conf games next year. There is little reason to play decent teams OOC now.

You must not be aware of the Texas definition of a "10"........ it's a 4, carrying a six pack.
