…playing Russian Roulette going into next season. He's streaky and when he's hot we can beat anybody but there's always a bullet in the chamber waiting to kill your season.

Worst part, I see zero progression from ND to today so no reason to believe this isn't his ceiling.

WHY doesn't Reed hire his own, personal coach in the offseason like Johnny did? Reed's got the money to do it and possible future financial payoff. Something is strange about this.

Reed is not going to get us to the promised land.
He may be a very likable young man and interviews well, but those are not the qualities in a quarterback that can win on the big stage.
He has not matured regarding his decision making in critical moments at all.
We need to have some honest competition at QB for next year.

Think back to the middle of the season, REED will WIN the Heisman. I laughed out loud then. Now everyone is ready for him to hit the portal.

If you're serious about winning next year, you go get Lagway.

Gives Reed a reason to get better and gives him some competition.

He had neither this year.

Elko moved on from Weigman. Mid-game.
Not sure he'll move on from Reed. We'll see. We at least need a legit backup to press him.

Reed's accuracy is sh*t for this level.
I remember all the crap in preseason taking shots at Reed, saying he's not a very good passer.

Turns out, he's not a very good passer.
Or at least not with anything that resembles consistency.

I think Mond would been lights out in this offense with this cast around him. All he'd have to fo is hit those short passes (which Reed kept missing) and he'd definitely not.turn the ball over. A serviceable game manager with decent wheels, who doesnt turn the ball over wins today.

Agree 100%.
Listen to the presser. Reed lost this game with his turnovers but he takes no responsibility
Time for him to ride the pine and get another QB.
Elmo needs to know this **** won't cut it either or his ass is gone. This was a winnable game. We don't need another jimbo only with a gut

Every coach knows he isn't going to get better without competition in the locker room. That has to be Elko's top priority if he sincerely cares about Reed's development. I wish him the best.

We gave a good chunk to a QB who we brought in mainly as a coach. He never had a chance of real snaps. It appears that neither did qb2 or qb3. Who pays money to have a qb4 that has no chance?!

I will never get over how bad our QBs are this year especially considering we are QB transfer out U

I think there's a chance Reed could still progress and helm a championship-contending offense, but I would be disappointed if we go into next season with him as the only viable option. But I get that it's extremely hard (and expensive) to hold onto two viable starters for anyone in the current landscape.

hell, even the short swing passes that get him to 60% the receivers had to break stride to catch today. last two games were brutal. bad timing or pure choke job I don't know.

Prolly.

I'll be doing something else with my time if that's the case. I can't imagine spending all that money to go to games and the things around that just to watch it wasted on something we all know.

Y'all remember when Haynes King was a turnover machine? Reed can improve.

The bigger problem is the run game. The highest RB yardage in the last three p4 games:
Miami 21y Owens
Texas 48y Owens
Scar 28y Owens

The OL was bad! That needs to be the primary focus in the portal.

Like all the people saying Mond would improve...

Honestly, I am just really shocked that anyone thought Reed was anything more than average with above average legs. I could tell this was how things were going to go from early in the season.

Reed is what he is, which is good enough with a lot of tools but not elite, not great, not even good most days. It was obvious that was the case if you didn't drink the Koolaid.

I'm sure Marcel is great in practice. He shows flashes of brilliance, but consistency is the key to being a reliable QB, and we are still hoping for it.

at his size im surprised he was as durable as he was this year. one good data point this year but i would still consider that a question mark moving forward.
