South Carolina (we won due to sheer talent and players).
Texas our offensive scheme sucked.
Miami our offensive scheme sucked.

Blame it on Klein for mentally leaving with two regular season games left and then it carried over into playoffs.

Reed having his worst games of the.year is what did it. Two game and 5 T.O. are what did it.

Klein is a very high character person who is immensely successful at 35. Play calling wasn't the issue in the last two games. Execution at the QB position was the issue.

If anyone think Reed's complete fudge dragon performances weren't affected somewhat by Klein checking out of the Aggie football program, congratulations on that sand your head is buried in.

Yeah, Klein didn't make Reed make those bad throws or WRs drop passes but at some point the attitude of the team is a reflection of the coaching staff's attitude and presence.

And I've read that people should relax on Elko because Elko knew we were not built to be a champion in Year 2. Be patient, Ags! Trust the process, right?

That's all baloney because Elko let Klein stick around when Klein was sniffing KSU's butt for a job.

He maybe but character has nothing to do with it. Giving 100% is different than giving 100% of what you have left in you from your other job.

Klein's play calling in the red zone has been poor.

Reed's accuracy and inconsistency over the last several games was really bad. It seems in SC he may have let all of the Heisman chatter get to him. He recovered in the 2nd half and I felt pretty good that he shook those yips. Nope - they came back but worse in the tu and Miami games.

There's a reason why Ryan Day isn't entrusting outgoing OC Brian Hartline with playcalling duties even though he's not heading to USF until after the playoffs

It has been analyzed a lot over the last few weeks.

Every team now knows how to defend the Aggies running game & Marcel Reed's passing game:

1. Stop the run game and hit home in the rushing game to put pressure in Marcel.
2, Contain him in the pocket and make him become a pocket passer.
3. Play a Zone Defense on the backend with 6 to 7 defenders.
4. The Zone coverage forces QBs to be very accurate in throwing into smaller windows.
(Marcel has Mechanical Issues and is Not An Accurate Passer).

This Defensive Strategy has been Highly Successful in beating The Aggies
by both t.u. and Miami.

*** Our Coaching staff was not successful to overcome this weakness.
Next year every team we play will incorporate this defensive strategy against us.

I hated the play calling in the Texas game long before Reed started pressing in the 4th quarter. Klein clearly was not prepared for that game.

As far as the Miami game both of them had several bad moments. And they both failed once we got the ball to the 4. I hated all three of the final calls. I really would like to review with Klein what he was thinking bc these calls were horrible and nothing like what had worked this year in similar situations. Miami covered the middle of the field all day and with the compressed field being at the 4 it made the calls even worse.

How in the world was not one jet sweep called. They had worked ALL year. There was enough time on the clock to do it.

I was hoping the coaching change did not affect Klein but he clearly did not have his A game for either.

Reed doesn't have to be surgical like a Tom Brady.
But at a minimum he's gotta be able to make his easy throws.

Lately he hasn't even been making his easy ones.
Several that were still completed were so far off target, the receiver had to recover first and didn't have much chance for YAC in stride

We likely beat Miami if he just connects on the easy throws. It's first downs, it's time off clock, it's momentum, it's Miami's D being on the field longer, it's having to respect more of the looks….

I wanted a QB run at the very end. Lead draw right thru the middle with RB blocking.

That pick wasn't a bad play call though. The route was open. Reed was a little late on timing, and he missed pretty bad to his left. That's all Reed

I will have to go rewatch the last play again. It did not appear open to me at all during the game replays.

Don't like the concept either. Nate should run a route he can block someone out or a delayed route. Not a quick hitting route that required him getting separation over the middle in a very short distance.

What we saw was better coaching AND players who matched us or were better up front when we got to tu and Miami which really highlighted the weakness of the schedule up to that point.

Klein tried vs tu and Miami but was outmatch up front both times as what worked the previous 10 games no longer worked and he did not have a QB who could manage it.

Citing Klien is an excuse and takes focus off the past two seasons tailing off and finishing extremely weak.

This has little difference to how 2024 ended but just an easier schedule in 2025. The ND win this year is Elko's one shining moment.

miami sucks

Klein sucks,

so not fond of Klein but

Reed portion of blame is significant

Reed couldn't generate if measly TD to save a season

IF Reed played better against tu...forget that Reed is not the near passer as that nepo QB they have...

so all three sucked for sure pass 2 games that doomed A&M season as miami sucked less

Darn shame we had so few wins this year. Barely bowl eligible. If we can't win a Natty every year the coaches MUST GO!

BS! It was both Klein play calls and Reed. Our first set of downs in the second half against tu and we need 2 yards on 3rd down and KC calls a long pass!!! 3 and out is a momentum killer. We were not aggressive against tu or Miami. If he play called like 2nd halves of LSU, Mizzoo, and SC, we smoke tu and Miami. Glad he is gone, I am unsure of what to expect with Wiggins.

Good lord.
CK didn't call for a deep ball. He called a passing play, and a good one, because the short routes were plenty wide open to get the first down, which was the only objective.

But Reed was trying to play hero, and opted to try for KC going long instead of making his reads and taking what the defense gave on that play.
Reed made a stupid decision AND he threw a bad ball (shocker)

Theo, not Nate. Why so bunched up in the middle of the field? If KC hadn't fallen/been dragged down it would have been even more clogged.

I would have gone QB run play there.

Even still, the offensive collapse was 90% Reed, 10% Klein in my opinion.

It ultimately falls to klein to stop trying to jam a square peg into a round hole. Reed has never been a good pocket passer, and when hes really steiggling why not give hime more designed runs and get him out of the pocket. I think thst was just lazy ass play calling.

Our OL got whipped in both of the last two games and we didn't have a healthy Moss. We needed Moss to overcome the OL deficiencies and we didn't have him. Klein and Reed were not good enough to overcome that. Both of them are good, but not game changers.

Specifically the coaching.
Sark has spanked Elko two years in a row.
That's concerning.
And spare me the ridiculous cliched "you only care about beating the sips" response.
Talk about missing the point.

We showed great improvement this year. When we had overwhelming talent we dominated. When we had better talent, we were able to win games such as ND. ND is over-rated, they have essentially beaten no one and would be 8-5 team in the SEC this year. When a team had more talent, we just didn't have any answers. Miami was one game but the texas game showed you that they just had more talent.

Lazy excuse and looking for someone to blame. Klein wasn't headed to K-State before the South Carolina game.

What about Elko? He was too busy signing extensions and worried about getting a pay raise. He signed his extension right before the South Carolina game. Why doesn't he receive anywhere near the same criticism that Klein does? I am not saying Elko deserves it, but it makes no sense to praise Elko for doing the same thing that Klein was doing.
