There's a host of variables that affected this Cotton Bowl but damn, A&M and that 30 mile an hour wind turned out to be a tougher match than Ohio State was. A&M's run defense was better as well.

Definitely should make those of us who are pessimistic (me included) to reevaluate the extent to which we fell apart at the end of the season.
Next year will be better.

I've never understood this line of thinking. You have to be able to beat anyone and everyone in the playoffs. The only way this makes sense is if you just want to win at least 1 game before you are eliminated. Beat ANYONE, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE.

Again this should NOT surprise anyone. We will always get ****ty deals. We have to learn to win anyway.

These 3 teams are evenly matched but Cristobal and Beck and the Miami defense found a way to finish. Miami is peaking at the right time.

Advancing, even against a G5 cupcake, and keeping your name in the press for an extra 10 days goes a long way in overcoming the narrative of "can't win the big one".
Lol. Who do you think in the playoffs Reed would beat on a neutral field? The answer is nobody except the small subdivision schools.BigSneezy said:HJack20 said:

LOL. Miami missed 3 easy FGs and averaged over 5 yards a run. If Miami makes their easy FG attempts, then it's 19 points. You don't get credit for them missing easy FGs. LolW said:
the aggie defense was great against Miami
no question about that
held the 'canes to 10 points

While that is true, complaining about having a terrible draw is seen as a sign of weakness by many that says the only way you can advance or win is if you have an easy schedule. The Ags were fighting that belief by many as having had an easy schedule overall. Winning a game against a cupcake G5 and then losing in the 2nd round to a P4 opponent wouldn't have done much to change that narrative by anyone paying attention.
