A&M is 83rd in the country in pass completion %........ouch

The top 4 teams with highest completion % were Ohio State, MIami, Oregon, and Indiana. Georgia was # 7.

Marcel is tied for 4th in the country for most interceptions
Marcel is 23rd in the country in QBR.

Seems like the teams that are winning in the playoffs are doing so with great QB play (and less QB errors).

Beck outdueled Marcel and Sayin at Ohio State.
Oregon's QB Moore played better than Tech's QB.
Indiana's currently ahead due to Mendoza outshining Bama's Simpson

Just seems like we have to sell out to having an elite QB if we're going to get the promised land. Marcel isn't a pure pocket passer and the offense play calling isn't playing to his strengths. Either change the QB or change the offense.

Doesn't matter if we have elite WR's if we can't get them the ball.
A&M....give us room!

Yep and most aggies want to run it back. Makes no sense.

New QB coach needs to make sure Hart and Casuga are as mentally and physically ready to go as possible. If Reed falters i'd rather give up on the year and see what we got with the youngsters

I love how hard you are trying to sh** on Marcel. How did Sayin do against Miami. Mr. Completion % must have torn them up right?

Reed may or may not get better. Curious who is the obvious upgrade for us to go get though.

thanks Rootube, you illustrated my point. Sayin lost to another team with a high completion %. Just so happened 2 of them played each other......both couldn't advance.

I don't get people saying "Look at Jayden Daniels".

Marcel regressed this year.

His rushing was down, despite playing more quarters.
His interception percentage increased.
He had more turnovers. He didn't take care of the ball like he did in 2024.
His completion percentage was basically the same.

All of this despite having a better OL, better receivers, an easier schedule, and arguably the same with respect to running back (losing Moss again, but last year didn't have Daniels).

Plus, we have a more difficult schedule next year (9 SEC games), lose most of our OL and DL, and lost our OC and DC.

I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Imagine if LSU had given up on Burrow after his first season in Baton Rouge.

2894 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions, while also adding 399 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns.
Oh by the way his completion percentage was 58.7%.

The zoo would have booted him for somone better.

Thank god the morons and female dogs of the zoo don't make any real decisions.

Instead of bashing on Reed, I'd like to put a beatdown on whichever idiot thought it was a good idea to start the Heisman talk and put undue pressure on the team when the stats never supported it. The decline started then.

You mean the team that gets better QB play in the game has a better chance to win? That's shocking.

And there's no basis for the statement that Reed isn't a pocket passer. I don't have the stats, but I bet his completion percentage is significantly better from the pocket. He needs to improve but he had a very respectable season except for the last two games.

That was Burrows first season to start in CFB and he was playing under a brand new system at LSU.

Interesting stats. The QBs that you referenced, how were there sophomore years? Our problem is that we don't have coaches that can develop talent. Our fan base wants a QB to step in right out of high school and compete at an elite level while he sits in the pocket. So basically a kid that can go straight from hough school to the pros. No time for development.

His stats are very similar to last year. He hasn't improved yet.

Marcel would wind up being the best of the QBs (maybe aside from Murray) to leave and absolutely tear it up for another school.

A&Ms ******ed fan base refuses to learn these lessons.

Reed beat ND with a clutch fourth down throw in the end zone. He beat the hell out of LSU who promptly fired their coach afterwards. Then he engineered the greatest comeback in school history to beat USC. Marcell has proven he is a winner. All you Marcell haters need to face reality and that is Marcell is a helluva QB.

My point, there are very few Johnnys and Winston's out there. Most of the "great" QB are older.

Reed needs to get smarter. He needs to be able to know his reads before he has to make the read. We must have smart routes and get players in the right spots. Reed needs to be able to know where the open spots are before the snap. Accuracy will come with time. Now, I will say time is running out, but I do believe he can get to the point of being a "great" QB.

Marcel has a ball security problem

can't have your QB averaging 2 turnovers per game vs. P-4 opponents

Beck threw for 103 yards in 20 attempts against A&M and another 138 yards in 26 attempts against OSU, which would be less than ideal if he was a dual threat QB, which he decidedly is not (11 for 17)

Going into duels you hope your QB is worth more than 129 or so total yards, but it's worked out so far for them.

Beck has a ton of 3 step drops and the ball is out. His longest completion to a WR was 14 yds. The Miami OC and offense are designed to Becks strengths. That's something Klein got away from the last month of the season with Reed. IMO.

Reed is not going to get appreciably better- not after two years starting.

It doesn't work that way. it jiust doesn't.

Can we win with him? Yes. Can we win biig? No.

If Elko's goal is 9 or 10 wins. stick with Reed.

Great QB play wins games when they are challenged. Reed came through in the ND and was a total fail in the tu and Miami games.

Beck outdueled Marcel? How? By handing off?

LMAO

Miami won because of LOS and Aggie mistakes. Yes, Reed had more than his share of the mistakes. But Beck did nothing against A&M other than hand off. Game was not remotely a QB duel. What success we did have was thru the air. What success Miami had was on the ground.
