How long do you want to ignore this user?
Really puts their old team at a disadvantage since they can't respond (not many portal players available at that point). Why wait that long to enter? Angry at their old team? Is there an economic incentive to be the last players available? Glad we didn't have any late entries.

If the player doesnt have an offer that he loves, why not wait to see if something better comes along.

They are following the rules. What's the problem with that? You can't control them???

This is where you maybe suspect tampering? Do they enter this late because someone is poaching them?

I know it's in the rules but seems like a dick move.

If you are entertaining offers but you are not in the portal it's kid of backstabbing your team who thinks you are staying.

So you are holding your spot and looking to jump when it's too late for your current teammates to equally replace you.

Yea, I get it, it's in the rules but just like hitting on someone's wife even if you don't sleep with her that **** is FROWNED UPON.

Obviously very hard to prove tampering but anybody entering this late that gets an offer and leaves was probably talking to other teams while they were NOT in the portal

what if your intent is to stay and you think you have the inside track for serious tim next year. you have been told they have all the faith in the world in you to start. that they may bring in another guy to compete for the position and then after all that they bring in 3 guys and your looking at an uphill battle.

my point is i think this stuff is pretty fluid. it kind of goes both ways and until someone actually makes some serious rules it's just kind of take go oh well that sucks.

It's a business now. Sometimes people get screwed in business. Just have to deal with it.

Then that would be the same thing, seriously frowned upon.

In this case obviously Duke did not bring in 3 Quarterbacks …

Had an old boss that told me something that has stuck with me for many years.
He said lots of folks use the excuse or justify doing unethical things by saying " It's just business". He said he wondered how those actions will be handled on judgement day…..and if God will say "it's just business" as that soul heads to purgatory.

It really sucks when a head coach enters the portal right before the playoffs

The Duke QB to Miami thing may have been legal, but that doesn't make it right.

There is nothing unethical about entering the portal within the rules of entering the portal. I think your boss is unethical by bringing God into the work place.

I wasn't speaking of anything particular being unethical. I was saying you can't hide behind a phrase of " it's just business" if you're wronging someone. "Business" doesn't give you a free pass to screw someone.
And on your other statement? I could care less, and I'm glad my boss was who he was.
He has one of the most successful businesses around…and ran that business on his beliefs.
