Could you imagine how much more it would be if we had won a national championship recently?

The PUF isn't for athletics, plus if it gets changed, our piece of the pie will get smaller because other schools will be able to get their hands on it.

This is why we should not want any reigning in of the current situation of pay for players without any restrictions.

Why would we want it to change when we have the largest, and likely richest fanbase? Maximize the advantages you have.

Texas and A&M have much become like the Dallas Cowboys, top highest earning teams that haven't won championships in a while. As a business that is great, as a team not so much.

We have extreme wealth and are one of the top 10 most watched programs(per TV ratings)-even higher ratings than Notre Dame..but if you read Texags, it's victim mentality 24/7..

LSU hasn't been known as a blue blood. Up until Sabans arrival they basically matched us historically.

True, and Nebraska may have lost their Blue Blood status though I'll still defend my statement.

The SEC is only now beginning to understand what they got themselves into. I expect laws/regulations to pop up soon when certain teams discover their new place in the world.

I read this article. The new NIL rules, the transfer portal, and conference alignments have turned major college sports into professional-like leagues. The conference leaders are prioritizing TV network revenue over the welfare of athletes and fans. The athletes are no longer students, and college education has become an afterthought. Many traditions have been eliminated. The only sustainable solution is to implement multi-year contracts and penalties for breaking them.

Yes, I do. Hence me saying "up until Saban" Einstein. Like I said, prior to then their history basically mirrored ours and they were never known as a blue blood. Blue bloods have been so called long before then.

What is hypothetical? It's all true today. What are you even babbling about? LSU has never been known to be a blue blood as their success is fairly recent. You probably think Georgia and Clemson are blue bloods too.
Jimbo4win

Are we defining Blue Bloods by national championships? If so, there is NO way Texas is a blue blood. Auburn, Pitt, Minnesota, Michigan St, Tennessee, Cal, Illinois, Miami, Nebraska, Georgia, Georgia Tech and LSU all have more national championships than Texas-not to even mention actual blue bloods like USC, Michigan, Alabama, OU, Ohio St and Notre Dame. And when it comes to bogus national championship claims, Texas takes the cake. They literally claim a national championship in 1970-a year they got smoked in their bowl game. They have two more than 60 years ago and one more than 20 years ago. Texas, as defined by national championships is NOT a blue blood.
Teslag
How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
Blue blood is just a media driven term for historically relevant and elite programs in their eyes, similar to "America's Team" for the Cowboys. With that in mind, Texas is undeniably a blue blood.

Again, every single thing I said was true. If you disagree then say that instead of teen level ad hominems.

LSU is not and has never been considered a blue blood. Up until Sabans arrival their history was as bad or worse than ours. Those are all true whether you like it or not.

How about you name the blue bloods for us? Also, please define "historical relevance". My guess is programs that have dominated the sport over the last 30 years will be off the list while programs that dominated in the 60s will be on…even though the programs that have dominated over the last 30 years dominated MORE than the ones that dominated the 60s-IE Georgia vs Texas
