The Ags signed transfer CB Rickey Gibson II from UT last month.

Going into 2025, he was considered the Vols' top starting CB before an arm injury sidelined him in the opening game. The other 2025 Vols starting CB was Jermod McCoy. McCoy has a high first round projection for the upcoming 2026 Draft.

RG2 was ahead of Colton Hood, who has a mid first round grade in the 26 Draft. RG2 was also starting in front of Ty Redmond, who became a Freshman All-American in 2025 with Gibson sidelined.

RG2 is expected to be fully recovered for spring practice. This could get fun.

I am glad that the Texas A&M Aggies signed transfer CB Rickey Gibson II from UT last month.

Going into 2025, he was considered the Tennessee Volunteer's top starting CB before an arm injury sidelined him in the opening game.

I think this could be fun.

McCoy was the higher rated corner going into 2025 but yes Gibson is a very good corner and is a great add.

Seems like a roll of the dice hoping he makes a full recovery. Tennessee didn't seem upset that he transferred. When you don't play a whole year its natural to regress.

Wut? Tennessee fans are pissed he left. Go read any forum or Reddit threads about him. Type his name into google and include the word Reddit for easy access to their discussions about him. Tennessee fans were beyond angry.

And it was an upper body injury. And no, you don't lose your skills by having to sit out a year for injury, goober.

He is the #1 CB in the portal per 247 and the #2 CB according to On3.

This is wrong on both accounts. Tennessee absolutely did not want to lose him and there's zero reason he shouldn't make a full recovery.

Especially when it's an upper body injury. This isn't some torn ACL where he can't run and has been out of football shape for 9 months.
