The Lane game is based on the statistical analysis, of things like 4rth down percentage of success, number of possessions. Last year it appeared Elko dipped his toe in the go for dos waters, but did not go full throttle.
It was more of ordering a tasting flight than a man sized pitcher of risk. That was largely due to inept play calling of Klein, who is thankfully back in Manhattan KS.

Beating LSU is more significant than the other rivals, because right now they have better coaching than the other rivals. I like A&M's chances as I am not sure Kiffin bought the right QB, while Reed is going to get a better playbook, and had some of his best moments in high risk plays.

Wonderful insight there, Yogi Berra.

There is no world where an LSU win is more important than a Texas win this season.

Who knows? I think Elko is still trying to figure out how to be a HC. Remember, he's only been a HC a few years. He's got a ton of football experience, but he's a DC at heart. As much as a slime ball as Lane is, he is more experienced as a CEO than Elko.

Now, hopefully Elko can continue making strides as THE head of the program.

Literally this season... LSU game is in September. Beating LSU at home against poofter Kiffin is more important than the sip game on the road in November

I think you have that backwards. The LSU game is in Baton Rouge and Sips come to Kyle this year

Wrong.

We were all ecstatic to get over the LSU hurdle. It is time to get over the next one. We can't afford to get knocked out of the SEC race by Texas a third year in a row. Especially at home.

Any way you look at it LSU & the short loins are two of the toughest yearly opponents in the SEC for any team. Important to at least split with them on a regular basis. Auburn is probably the only team in conference with two tougher rivals to beat year-in, year-out...UA & UGA

I'll get roasted for this but there are already a lot of red flags around Elko and his "Texas problem". If he loses to them again this year, then it should be clear to most that he's not the right guy.
2 years in a row he's let those a-holes knock us out of Atlanta. The loss this past year was inexcusable. I don't care how good the sips are projected to be this year. This game is must win this year or the narrative will be set.

And save all the "typical old army, obsessed with t.u." comments. They are our arch rival and have directly impacted the ceiling of the program two years in a row.

Our ability to beat Texas depends on our ability to beat everyone else. Focusing on Texas is fine. But settling for spoiling their seasons is losing.

When did I suggest settling for anything? You missed the entire point of my post apparently.
