High school sophomore has started dual credit classes this summer and needs a better option than his Chromebook. If anyone has one let me know.

Thanks for the info. My son has read the reviews and difference between those and an older Macs with different chips. He really wants something that will take him through college, but that has been discussed too.

I work for Apple Education and handle education sales for 3 states. The MacBook Neo is a great device and will handle anything a student can throw at it for school purposes. As stated earlier, it is not a gaming system. I recommend upgrading to the 512GB for growth, but that is it. The Neo is a Mac and not a cheap throwaway Chromebook.
If the budget is there the MacBook Air is the more powerful, scalable device. The M series chips are fast, reliable and full of power. You can't go wrong with the Air if you can get one at the price you need.
Good luck! Enjoy your Mac. Let me know if you have questions about this.
