And after 2 game, Vandy stands alone atop the conference standings... as everyone predicted...

Nobody saw A&M, South Carolina, and Auburn earning a combined total of 1 point tonight.

Mississippi St with a great result tonight to give SC their first loss in 2 years in SEC play. A world class goal to win it as well. I'm going to start taking them seriously now. Auburn shouldn't have tied LSU but it's been a crazy night. SC, A&M both lose in upsets and Auburn ties. The SEC champion may have 3 losses this season.

Each team got a PK goal in this one.

Never thought our game here with MSU would be for the league lead.

We're the only conference team Miss State hasn't lucked into a win against.

RPI is NOT a measure of the strength of a team. Look at the Coaches poll.

Neither the RPI or Coaches Poll prove a relative strength. Only the eye test and results on the field against other good teams inform me whether a team is good or not. The reason RPI is important is because that is the metric the NCAA uses to seed teams, which is all that matters in the big picture. So Miss State have a high RPI helps the conference and A&M when we play them.

Was just checking out the Mississippi website. Their coach said Auburn played 3 on the back line and they thought that would present some opportunities for them, and Kizer scored 2 goals, the second after what they described as a 75 yard run with the ball. Some of their players also talked about our 3 player back line. Maybe we should cross them up and play 4 on the backline as Hidden suggested after the Arkansas game.
