This is why you have a coach like Greg Berhalter. This is why you see so many MLS players in the US team over other better players playing in Europe. This is why we are struggling so much.

You think it's in mls interest for the USA team to suck?

No, I do not. But they suck largely because of what MLS is doing, unfortunately.

I think for all the international breaks you can analyze MLs vs Europe. You also need to look at the quality of player, just being in Europe doesn't necessarily mean you are good or a better options.
A lot of games we play outside of those dates, a lot of European players arent made available. Certain players are injured often as well.
Overall, I think there is definitely an agenda involved. I think it was probably good at one point to help MLS out via the national team, but I think those days should be behind. The league is established and growing now. There will always be some players on the National Team from MLS, and some of them may even be starters, too young to go to Europe,or older near the end of their career.
I really feel the next coach needs to have a proven record as a tactician, both in game and out. Those guys also tend to be good at evaluating talent. I also think he needs to not be an American, so he can come from outside the sphere of corruption and influence. Maybe the coach after that can be an American again, someone like Luchi from FCD.
