That's what I was leaning towards too, but they already did that high-stakes season-ending loss in S1.

True. On second thought, perhaps they pull it off on PKs. That would be my guess considering that's how they start the trailer (with the miss on this occasion, but netting it in the final).

Obviously.

For some reason I was thinking that there had been a change and they got a CL spot rather than EL but I guess that fact would have played into the last day of the EPL season if it was the case.

At one point Ted asks something to the effect of "has a club like us ever won the whole thing?" and Higgins says not in a long time. So I think the FA Cup will be the soccer-side story we get this season. Maybe Roy dealing with retirement (hopefully coaching) and Ted getting a new love interest.
