This makes two straight games that Megan Rapnoe has not been playing with the Women's National Team. I know they are playing a weak Uzbekistan team, but I hope she never plays for our country again. She is toxic.

IHIOGA that she plays for the other team.

She's injured and therefore was not called into Feb or April camps so obviously she's not playing. Plus Vlatko has said multiple times that he's using these two camps to feel out younger players and new pairings so most veterans are not on the field. Anyone who remotely follows the USWNT knows this. Not news, not new thread worthy.

I saw that she was injured after I posted, but I still hope she never represents the US again.

The young front line of Pugh, Macario and Smith looks very dynamic. From my perspective, Rapinoe (her politics aside) doesn't add much to the team anymore from a soccer standpoint to justify any more callups. I'd rather see Pugh start on the left wing now as her speed and technical ability make her much more complete player than Rapinoe.

Perhaps Press and Morgan can still contribute as they are much quicker than Rapinoe and will provide some veteran leadership for the youngsters.

Shocking that someone with the OP's posting history might not support Megan Rapinoe.

The lineup we put out for the last two camps was very young, which is what we have all wanted.

It is time to turn the page and move on from the Rapinoe/Lloyd/Krueger group. The ones that are a bit younger (Sauerbrun, Morgan) can still be useful to the team, but we needed to get the youth involved.

In all honesty, I do not understand 2 game friendly windows with Uzbekistan. I think, for sake of real competition and succession of players, I would much rather see a 100 person USWNT camp, divide into 4 teams and play each other. You would learn a lot more about your depth and what you have rather than beating up on some national team that looks way out of their depth.

Sauerbraunn is 36 but with Davidson's injury and Ertz being pregnant; there is a bit of veteran depth issue at CB for USWNT.

They were suppose to play friendlies against team from Asia but something happened and Uzbekhistan was a replacement.

NWSL is in season so I'm not sure they can bring in 100 players for any window.

Yeah, I didn't mean today, but I think you get my point. These games are largely useless.

Or what about your average high school boys team?

Take it to the Politics Board circle jerk. You'll get the attention you seek over there.

What, you don't like politics mixed in with your soccer? Did you tell that to Rapinoe as well?

This is the soccer board. I come here to read about soccer. If you want to complain about players' politics then that should be done on the politics board.

Not that I disagree, but you did manage to revive a thread that hadn't had any posts for a solid week. Now the "discussion" about a single player who is no likely longer a fixture on the NT will continue.

It's the national team. Politics are part of the national teams. I see Rapinoe/USWNT discussion to be on the same level as discussion about FIFA banning Russia.

Agree to disagree. FIFA banning Russia directly effects leagues, tournaments, the WC play-in games. Rapinoe's politics has nothing to do with what goes on on the field.

That's fine you can disagree. But I think if you don't want to be a part of the discussion you can ignore the thread. I don't want the whole board doing politics. But some discussion is allowed.

When a player (any player) inserts themselves into the Political realm, they make themselves fair game for criticism or praise based on their political bent. Rapinoe is not excluded from that.

As far as this thread goes, I think Rapinoe is aging out of consideration for USWNT inclusion. Her skills are diminishing (duh) so the question becomes, is her experience valuable enough to include her in a roster when she is no longer the quality player she once was? The gripe for the past several years is that the older core group of players were holding roster spots and keeping younger players from having the chance to play, gain experience at the highest level, and developing, which I think is a fair criticism. Rapinoe is a lightning rod due to her actions and expressed political opinions, which become conflagrated with her quality as a player.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

Did she quit kneeling on the field?

Don't know because no one's seen her on the field for quite some time.
