Yeah.. team actually looked okay at times. If DCL were playing, i think we would've won it. A ton of good crosses that were aimed at Gordon, just wasted.
yeah i thought what we had out there looked pretty competent, but now that our CB depth is done for a good while i just dont see that continuing. I really hope im wrong and Holgate and Keane figure out how to play soccer good.

If we really are going after that Wolves CB, that would give a back three of tarkowski, Holgate/Keane, and the wolves CB. Which isn't bad. Let's hope Onana provides solid work on the defensive end. We need a striker for the next month not named Rondon.
Okay, Onana and Coady are done deals, sounds like Gueye is as good as done too. Excited to see how this can free Iwobi up to wreak some havoc on the offensive end. We just need a striker now because DCL won't stay healthy after he returns and we can't rely on Rondon.

Agree.. hope the Depay rumors are substantiated or that guy playing in Germany. Need a goal threat.
Yeah, with Richarlison gone we need someone else that can score. I thought the team looked decently threatening on Saturday though, especially considering the opposition.

2 games straight where Doucoure switches off on the defensive end and is directly responsible for the goal.. now we have to work hard in the heat to try and grab a point.
Geeze. We defend really well out of the 5-back. We looked tired and our legs couldn't push through. Onana is going to be a great one. I'd like to see Iwobi and Onana in the midfield next week. Davies just doesn't do it. AVL looked like a Concacaf squad to end the game. Half the team was injured in stoppage.
Honestly have no respect for villa after that disgrace of time wasting. Absolutely disgusting.
We're in desperate need of a striker with DCL out. Gordon is a star in the making and I love Gray but we need a true number 9 out there playing between them.
Looks to be another relegation battle. If we can't hold on to leads late against Brentford - we don't have a shot.

Finally a solid performance this morning. Great individual moment from Maupay but the team as a whole looked much more cohesive and created some good chances. Early to say but the new additions look solid.
This gives us a bit of breathing room from the drop zone, here's hoping things keep tending the right direction.

Seeing the team I saw yesterday has me feeling a lot better about the season. We got a lot more right than usual in the transfer window and once we hit our stride, our worst case for the year is comfortably mid table.

Best part was that we invested in some youth by getting Onana and keeping Gordon. While adding Gana.

Absolutely. We looked like Man City in the first half. Moved the ball effortlessly and pressed well with purpose. 60% of the possession, just couldn't finish our build up play. Great to see them claw 2 goals back immediately after conceding.
Beautiful result today.

I had no idea how dire the financial situation was. They were basically forced to sell their best player just to get to next season and not run afoul of the financial fair play rules, and that was only a stopgap.
I'm relatively new to following the EPL and it's fascinating.
