Trying to think of which threads would be good to pin.

The long-running recruiting thread for sure.

But then we do weekly SEC threads and individual game threads, so those are harder to keep up with. Which other threads would be good pinned?

Even the weekly threads aren't pinned to the top. I would also enjoy a running talking thread on Aggie Soccer towards the top that isn't recruiting or week by week. It is just hard to get into if you aren't into it.

It is just unintuitive for new people that are wanting to get into soccer

It'd probably be helpful to have the weekly SEC threads pinned, but honestly we get so little moderator attention (which isn't bad!), they'd probably stack up and fill the first page if they ever got pinned in the first place.

If you're looking to follow the Aggie soccer team, read the recruiting thread, the weekly SEC threads, and the game threads.

Asking for longer-term threads like recruiting to be pinned could be supported (Hop does that on MBB.)

I tried to get staff to pin the recruiting thread yesterday, but like I said, we don't rank real high on their priority list.

It would be great if soccer were so popular that we needed 3 or 4 different forums for it, and Aggie Soccer got its own board; but to build on Jeff's point - there's barely enough interest in soccer at any level to justify maintaining this one forum. Maintaining stickies here is probably unjustifiable work for them given the level of interest.

We're stuck in this boat together, and the sad truth is that this forum unsurprisingly follows US market interest in the sport: USMNT> Euro soccer > MLS > USWNT > collegiate.

So I agree we could make game threads stand out, but beyond that, if you're looking for more interaction/visibility the best way is to be interested and discuss it more often. Or at the very least do a little 'ttt' post from time to time. I make it my personal mission to make sure the Bundesliga thread doesn't get too low. There might be 5 people who give a crap, but that's what I care about so that's what I'm gonna do, and no one else seems to mind. Same could be done for Aggie Soccer if you want to take ownership.

Well if there is one thing I don't want to be labelled, its unintuitive.

Make me a moderator and I'll reliably pin the game threads, recruiting thread, and the game has passed up Coach G threads to the top. And I will delete about 90% of the professional team threads.

Would that solve the problem?

Do y'all want a general 22-23 Aggie soccer thread? And do we want CDub06 to start it?

I think it would be nice to pin the Weekly SEC thread for the week, then unpin it after the week is over.

While a thread that does not result in many responses I do find it a useful resource hence why I think it would be nice if were pinned instead of falling down the page due to all the threads dedicated to various pro clubs.

Season thread is up. Feel free to flag the OP or my staff sticky request to get their attention.
