I was watching the end of the Juventus game and this is how it ended…


It looks like VAR overlooked the defender by the flag.

These twitter threads are great. It's funny seeing how many folks claim it really was offside due to the guy taking the corner. And then there's guys out there showing different angles and drawing really crappy non-parallel lines to "prove" it really was offside.

But a point being raised that I absolutely agree with is this: if refs are being instructed to let things play out and not blow tight offside situations dead in goal scoring opportunities, then there's absolutely no reason they should've carded the player for taking his shirt off in what he thought was a game winner (and should have been). If you're gonna call a game-winning goal back, it's ludicrous to card for that.

There were something like 4 red cards given out as a result of this. The 2CT from the goal scorer removing his shirt to start and Allegri got sent off at the end.

I suspect this whole crew will get a week off.
