They were a bit unlucky, especially in the 1st half. Hit the crossbar and looked very close to a goal but no VAR. Then Horan hit the post and the ball bounced out. Germany hit the post and the rebound bounced off the US keeper for an own goal for the first goal.

Time for a change before it's too late?

i think they're just as big of a mess at the men's team now. At least they're all going pro as teens and becoming fulltime at that age now.

The challenge for the US is majority of European players are playing in leagues and club competitions that are at higher caliber than NWSL can put together. Additionally, the European national teams play against each other in regional competition, while the US basically has Canada as the only team that is on par in the region.

What's stopping them from going to Europe to play like the best men do?

Not sure if the previous contract, the star USWNT players had to play in the NWSL or not.

There have been several players that've played overseas: Horan, Mewis, Morgan, Heath and maybe a few of others. Macario is the only one that I think is based overseas.

I really feel sorry for the up and coming players.

They'll be lucky to make the round of 8.

I've got tickets to the Round of 16 through Finals. Can't wait for this tournament!
