I'll be honest that, since the Olympics, I haven't followed nearly as closely as I used to but shouldn't the scoring concerns be resolved now that most of the old guard are surrendered their roster spots to the younger players who were impeded as a result of their holding on too long?

Really surprised he didn't call in Tierna Davidson with Sauerbraun out. I guess Ertz can play CB if needed. Really hope they go with a 3-5-2 formation to get their best players on the field with Cook, Girma and Fox as the back 3. This gets Dunn on the field a bit higher as a wingback and keeps Horan, Ertz and Lavelle on the field as well. I'm meh on O'Hara/Heurta debate so either would play the other wingback. You do sacrifice a winger but with Swanson out injured, it may not be a bad thing. You can play Morgan and Smith as front 2 which is pretty damn potent as well with Williams and Rodman backing them up.

I guess you can play 4-3-3 with Dunn as a winger that really gets her higher up the pitch.

I don't think we'll have a problem getting chances with Smith, Rodman, and Lynn Williams. The problem will be if coach decides to play Morgan and Rapinoe instead of the three better players just mentioned.

Rapinoe won't start, but Morgan has started the last 5 games for the USWNT. I'd be shocked if she wasn't starting at this point

I do think the USA has a pretty solid shot at repeating, but there is a lot of new players there that need to step up.

I think England would have been the solid favorites if not for the fact that 4 of their biggest players all managed to blow out knees in the last 6 months. They looked outstanding in the Euros last year. Germany, Sweden, France and Spain are all gonna be tough outs as well.

Is anyone else surprised Kornieck was left out? I thought she'd been quite effective as a disrupter, she adds a real heading threat on set pieces, and she showed some real skill in identifying and making passes into space to free front-runners.
