LADIES & GENTLEMEN, IT'S TIME FOR THE MAIN EVENT! 104 MATCHES TO GLORY!

After all the angst and whining (and corruption), we finally get this thing underway on North American soil. We start with Group A featuring co-hosts Mexico, South Africa, South Korea & Czechia. This thread will be for all Group A matches.

Because of the expanded format this year, in addition to the top 2 group teams advancing, 8 of the 12 3rd place teams also advance. They're placed in their own table at the end of the group stage and ranked based on 1) points, 2) goal difference, 3) goals scored, 4) team conduct score. If it gets past that it simply goes to whoever is ranked higher in the latest FIFA rankings.

Depends on how many goals Mexico is scoring in those games. The more goals, the more trash right?

More goals = more trash on the field
Less goals = more trash at the players

Jimenez was kind of **** for Fulham the past few months. None of them are in good form.

How tf did this RSA team qualify over teams like Nigeria, Cameroon, or Gabon??? They can't complete a pass and I'm not even sure they understand the offsides rule.

Well, for starters, because of the expanded tournament, Nigeria is the only one of those teams they actually had to compete with for a spot...

But yeah, I was thinking every pass for them is about a foot off target. Hopefully they can settle down.
