Im not trying to beat a dead horse, but watching last nights game and watching Dragic play out of his mind....is it not painfully obvious that the Mavs cant win in the Western Conference playoffs with Jason Kidd?

You just cant win with a point guard that cant score, cant make layups and cant play good perimeter defense.

You have to be able to attack in this league....and Jason Kidd hasnt been able to attack in years.

We need to give the keys to Roddy B and see what he can do.

Only in Dallas can you sell the fans that you can compete for a championship with a point guard that cant score, cant defend and cant get to the basket.

Derek Fisher can defend, create a shot for himself in a one on one situation, hit contested jumpers, and set up the offense. He's not elite at any of those things but he can do them all. Kidd can hit open threes, that's it.

Fisher could do all of those things at a so-so in 2005. In 2010, he just blows. Kidd's not good, but he's better at all of those things than Fisher. That comparison is just silly.

I've harped on this now forever but the Mavs problem is they have NOBODY to play bruiser and wear down the opposing team on the inside... and they haven't had that in the Dirk era. You just can't beat teams with elite post players like that over a span of 7 games. Dirk's unique in that he's a great player, but he's incredibly finesse. They need the bruiser to wear down the other team down low. If Cuban lures Bosh to big D, I'll call it now... the Mavs will be tremendous in the regular season once again then lose to the first team they play in the playoffs with an elite post guy.

If Cuban wises up and goes after more of a bruiser offensively (I'm thinking somebody along the lines of Al Jefferson)... I'm telling you, they'll be a force that could finally compete for a championship.

IMHO Jason Kidd is better than Derek Fisher at this point.

leadership is all fisher offers. he can't defend, he only makes 10% of his layups (seriously, look up the stat), and his 3pt shooting and assist assist/turnover ratio isn't that good.

that's definitely an area where steve nash is clearly better than kidd. When teams double and triple team dirk, and no one is knocking down shots, nash would throw 30-40 points on you.

Fisher and Kidd both suck. The Lakers can get away with it because they have a guy named Kobe at the 2 guard slot.

Doesn't change the fact that Mavericks should unload that washed up piece of garbage at point guard.
