id take him over doug collins' "insight". JVG is just fun and is: "here's the new rule i'd make."
hubie brown always sucks off the home team and refs, however, it's fun when hubie is like "what out for this..." and then that happens on the next play. and not just vague like someone needs to score in the paint.
I love Hubie. He's always rooting for everyone. "See.. that's great for him..." He says that about 100 times a game. I always get the feeling he wants both teams to win.
Collins is just annoying. I've never been a big fan of the possession by possession analyze everything type color commentary and Collins is the poster boy for it.
JVG is very good as well. I like guys who try to be entertaining and treat the game like a game. This isn't a freakin chess match, it's basketball.
JVG is the best color man I've ever heard. He is perfect at balancing Mark Jackson's stupidity. He's funny, and every once in a while he gives some insight. I watch games I have no interest in, just becaus JVG makes them interesting.
JVG is the best. He's funny and not afraid to be totally blunt, even when talking about his brother's team! I can't stand Mark Jackson. He is all about the superstars and it drives me crazy to listen to him.
You can learn more basketball listening to Hubie during a few games in the playoffs than you would learn in a season of being yelled at by some know-something, pinhead, jr. high or JV coach.
Can someone explain to me what "hand down, man down" means in basketball? I've really gone through all of the different possibilities and can't come to a conclusion. God, I hate Jackson. Part of me hopes he gets a coaching job next season, but as mentioned before, he is a great compliment to Van Gundy.
Its pretty simple. If the defender's hands are down he's allowing you an open shot. The ironic part is that Jackson was a terrible jump shooter during his career. Every time he says it I wonder why he would've ever said when he played.
