Kobe would've possibly moved ahead of Lebron for MVP, Gasol ahead of Dirk for NBA second team, and Lamar Odom ahead of Jamal Crawford for 6th man.

While I can agree with you on Kobe, your opinions of Gasol and Odom are based after one great game by each. They got lucky

Why would Gasol be 2nd team over Dirk and not Durant? Dirk is still 4th in pts+reb+ast for the playoffs and put up his usual great stats. Durant's numbers were down across the board.

They do punish players on the MVP for the previous playoffs imo. LeBron won't win MVP next year. Dirk didn't make top 10 in 2008, as he was punished for choking in the playoffs in 2007. The MVP should be associated with champions.

I opened this thread agreeing with Simplebay until I found out his justification was to jerk off more Lakers.

They should give out awards after the post-season because post-season play defines true MVPs, 6th Mans, etc. Not some ad hoc logic that helps a few Lakers pick up extra hardware.

Gasol has had more than one great game during the playoffs...
