The league really needs to look into this. They are just too damn close to the court. There is no way these guys should be affecting games (No offense, Soup).

How are they affecting the game?

The league has mandatory run zones near the three point line and either side of the basket where no one can be. These are taped out, because that is generally where most players will continue their run. A player runs into a photographer in some way in about 1/3rd-1/4th of the games, and rarely is it more than a slight collision. There is about 5 feet of room between the OOB line and the photographers.

see: leandro barbosa doesn't think 5ft is enough room in the nba

I agree that there is not enough room under the baskets. I say 8- 10 feet within 5 feet of the support. Make it an ark from the back of the support to 5 feet either side. I hate watching my favorite players risk injury going for a layup.

When a guy has to leave the game (Barbosa) to get stitches, that's affecting the game (Not to say LA wouldn't have gone on the run anyways.)

When George Hill twists his ankle in Dallas, can't play the rest of the game, and the Spurs end up losing (in turn affecting the seeding), that's affecting the game.

They need to be even further back, IMO.

Then the blame should be with the NBA, not the photogs. They do have and enforce pretty strictly rules about having rubber hoods rather than plastic or metal ones. I couldn't quite tell, but I think the photographer was the guy from the Arizona Republic, that is pretty experienced and well respected.

The baseline photographers are actually farther from the court than all the sideline fans. It just as easily could have been him landing on a fan's steel toe.

welcome to the party pal. he's not saying its the photogs fault. he's saying the NBA needs to change the enforced guidelines.

quit being so GD defensive

ummm....k? the sidelines see players flying into them much less than the baselines. since, you know, basketball is a game that moves north/south and not east/west.

jesus soup.

Players get into the fans on the sidelines as much as the photogs on the baselines. The ball often bounces out that way - bad passes, tipped passes, defender running to get to the shooter in the corner, etc.

I swear, you have never even seen basketball.

you's retarded.

think about the number of baseline inbounds that happen ALONE vs. sideline inbounds.

hint: this happen every time a team scores in case you forgot moran.

the amount of times players have to enter the baseline out of bounds area on regularity, or irregularity, is probably 10x as much as the sideline area. PROBABLY WHY the league has it set up this way. just sayin.

the photographers need to be moved back. 5 ft is not enough. and in case you're still too stubborn and stupid to understand, ill get dennis rodman to come explain it to you.

i swear you're a fooking idioot.

You can't be this ****ing stupid and still be able to connect to the internet to surf Texags, jack off to Kobe Bryant pictures and play Warcraft.

Read this again, only read it slowly and try to comprehend it.

Should I use all single syllable words? Maybe draw a picture?

If you did understand what I wrote there, you would know that your idiotic retort made absolutely no sense.

I think the difference between sideline and baseline is that with the side line, you are more aware of the crowd and can prevent injury more easily when you are just chasing after a ball. With the baseline, it's more of an after thought with your focus on the shot and less with the landing if that makes any sense.
Simplebay

you. are. wrong. soup.

photgraphers get in the way 10x more than fans on the FREAKING SIDELINE. the reason for this is WHY THE FANS CAN SIT CLOSER. and it's logical when you think about how the game of basbetball is played.

the baselines are far more crowded. and accessed.

jesus you are the dumbest person ive ever seen. and you're so fooking defensive i's hysterical. all you have to live for is defending yourself on texags now that you can't jack off to the spurs anymore because they suck and proved you a 1000000% wrong.

you fail soup. i own you. you're a joke.

Also, sideline fans don't sit with blunt objects.

Simplebay - the next time you sit on the sideline, you can tell me what it is like. Until then, stfu - you don't know what you are talking about.

The only thing you own is a Level 62 WOW character named Kobe.

The players simply don't crash into the photographers that much. Why you argue that point, I will never know. You have no actual knowledge of the situation. That's why there are escape lanes that the NBA religiously restricts. The players do go past the photogs in the escape lanes a few times a game, but they are not making contact.

I'd rather land wrong on a camera from someone trying to get it out of my way and is paying attention to the game over land wrong on a stiletto from some dumb trophy wife that isn't paying attention to the game.

lol god you are SOOO easy. and im a level 88 paladin so i owned you THERE TOO.

i saw 4 instances yesterday where players hit the photographers. and that was in last night's game alone.

i saw zero where players magically flew into the sideline.

proving, you're an idiot. it happened last night. it happens all. the. time.

and, i've been courtside as you know. in my WOW kobe jersey. maybe, unfortunately, no one has landed on your ass yet on the baseline, but i assure you it happens more than crashing into fans on the sidelines. in fact, i've seen more players just hop over the courtside row and land in the aisle behind the courtside seats more than i've seen them just plow into the row of fans. you might notice this if you watch the game with your head outside of tim duncan's urethra.

it is absolutely HYSTERICAL and the most moronic thing i've ever seen that you think, LEGITIMATELY THINK, that a player is more likely to land on a "steel toe or stiletto" on the sideline, than a camera on the baseline. especially, since, oh, i dunno.....BARBOSA'S HEAD WAS SMASHED ON A CAMERA LAST NIGHT

you're completely wrong. factually proven wrong. shocker. as usual.

I think you comprehend less and less with every post. I don't even know how that is possible.
Simplebay
How long do you want to ignore this user?

it's hard for me to comprehend illogical, retardedly defensive and moronic posts. so, yeah, your post doesn't make sense.

it's ok. since you're not a man i understand when you don't admit that you're just being defensive and wrong, and the nba really does need to look into it because it happened a bunch as recently as yesterday.
Guitarsoup

I'm not being defensive or illogical. That would be you, Warcraft. That's why you can't put together a reasoned, coherent, logical argument and instead have to resort to twisting everything and using ridiculous fallacies. I'm completely fine with them moving everyone away from the court. But the NBA won't do it, I can promise you that.
