Read the linked interview. Sounds like he is serious about going elsewhere once his contract his expires after next year.

Meh. Sounds like something could be lost in translation. He has said all along that he wants to continue playing with Tim and Manu.

It is smart for him to "test the waters" in order to draw a big paycheck, but if the money is equal I'd bet he'll end up back in SA.

he's 28 going on 35. he should go somewhere where he can win a championship.

Doesn't he already have a few championships? and a Finals MVP? What do you mean go somewhere he can win a championship?

I'm not a Spurs fan, but that's a stupid comment.

THIS was stuipid. Yes he was hampered by injury last year. But the year prior (when he was 27), he was possibly the fastest player in the league, and he had his best year as a pro.

One injury-plagued year is not a career-ender.

he doesnt seem as productive anymore. and the spurs can get some more younger pieces. its about time for them to start rebuilding.

not sure why the spurs are saying parker is basically untradeable.

as GM of the lakers i will trade you shannon brown and 3 water bottles for tony parker

This is nothing more than Simplebay finding a backhanded way to say that the Spurs aren't title contenders.

i think he can still return to amazing form. i dont think he was there last year. and im worried about his injuries...much like ginoibili.

that being said, i think the spurs could really get some pieces for him. i think his trade value is still relatively high, and probably higher than it should be judging by how he looked at some points last year.

i believe he becomes a free agent in 2011. and i think his stock is going to go nowhere but down after next season.

The Spurs won't trade Tony (before the draft, I thought this wasn't the case). This will be the Spurs' best shot to win another title for a long time, assuming Splitter comes this year. An improved Blair, Hill, RJ, and the addition of Anderson should really help this team. Tony is too much of a talent to get rid of to jeopardize a chance at one more title. While I understand the argument of rebuilding, if we have a legitimate shot at another title, I could live with Tony leaving next year.

With the Suns organization starting to crumble, the Jazz's downfall and the Laker's questionable coaching situation, I think the West will be an open field next season.

Tony is still an elite PG but that doesn't mean he's untradeable. I think he's poised for a big year after resting this summer. He's in the final year of his contract so his value will never be higher and that's why we will continue to hear his name come up.

Last year even when he was having a bad year we heard that the Spurs had a chance to trade him for Amare. Looking back, that should have been done. But at the time Amare wasn't having a great year either and he has the option to opt out this summer.

At the end of the day, the list of players I'd trade for Tony is pretty short.

Better to get something for him if he is set on leaving, and if that interview is legit, it seems he is.
