Amare turned down a 5y96mm from phoenix where the last two years were voidable if he didn't meet minimum minutes requirements.

I'm amazed any of the teams are booking a max guy when Bron hasn't chosen his new team.

Why give Amare the Max when Bron and Bosh are likely a team to go somewhere. Seems like the Knicks are resigned not to get LeBron after tanking a few seasons to get him.

maybe if they sign amar'e, then they think lebron will follow

it makes sense i think. why not be proactive and show lebron he has that "robin" in place and he can be batman

as i understand it, lebron would still have to take less money though than a miami or chicago.

NY actually has two full maxes available. Chicago and the Nets do not, yet. Both need to clear a little space (Chicago needs to lose Deng and NJ needs to lose Humphries.) Miami has 2.7 max contracts available if you count Wade. They can only get to 3 if they lose Beasley.


I've never seen anything suggesting that Bron wants Amare to be his Batman. He and Bosh are tight. Seriously, who would choose Amare over Bosh?

Bosh has said he doesn't like to play true center. his game matches that viewpoint.

IMO, Lebron wants a dominant post presence. i like Amare's low post game more than Bosh's.

personally, i'd rather have bosh. amare has 2 microfractures and sometimes (read: all) choose not to play defense or rebound.

Amare is no more of a center than Bosh is. Both are face up guys that play the high pick and roll and closer to the perimeter than the basket.
