Every fan dreams of having a bunch of stars take less money to play together for their team. Up until now it's only really been the Lakers able to pull off this kind of thing (to some extent). But the last time they did it was aging stars Peyton and Malone taking less money to win a ring.

Having three stars (two bonifide superstars) take less money to play together in a city not named LA is unprecedented. I was shocked at first but after thinking about it, I used to always wonder why this didn't happen more. When you play with stars you become better and you're happier. When you win more opportunities for making money come out of the woodwork.

I think its a good move by LJ on many levels. The only reason it's causing this kind of grief is because he's been an Ohio guy from birth.

There is a little more to it than that IMO. I don't fault him one bit for leaving Cleveland (he chose fame and/or the chance to win over sentiment -- who are we to decide what's best for him?), but the way he handled it was over the top.

This was probably one of the greatest NBA moral victories that I've ever had. 2 guys that I never wanted to see win a ring were squirrel hunting Karl Malone and Garnett. Too bad both didn't come true.
