If any of you were actually present in the meetings he had with the 6 teams and heard all of their pitches/offers/scenarios then feel free to chime in if you think Lebron made the wrong choice. If not then please STFU.

As for me, i'm going to support his choice just for the simple fact that he WAS present in the meetings and heard every option available and ultimately made Miami his choice.

I don't think lebron made the wrong chnoice, I just think he handled it poorly. He should have, at the very least, told cleveland he was not signing with them, and probably should have told the other teams as well, before he went on national TV.

Besides, you are missing the point. Most of us are not bashing his choice - I personally don't care where he was headed. As someone already said, it about how he handled it - like a spoiled prima donna.

it's wasn't the team he decided on that has turned pretty all fans into haters, it's the circus he started AND the fact the he now pi**ed of 5 major market fanbases when he could have very easily pulled a:
1. Durant
2. jordan
3. kobe

There is not a more hated man in the league than Lebron....and he deserves it all

I don't think the situations are too similar with these 3.

Durant - Lebron did sign an extension with Cleveland the 1st go around

Jordan - If Lebron had a Pippen in Cleveland, it might have made a difference. From reports, he tried to get a Pippen (Amare or Bosh) to Cleveland, but they wouldn't go

Kobe - Its easy to sign an extension when you have multiple rings and you live in a city where it is easy to attract top players.

this thing was wrapped up in a bow long before any of these meetings were held. the entire meeting process was just part of the hype-building.

I didn't need to be in the meetings to know that what Lebron did was sleazy. To go on national TV and make a big production out of it is rediculous.

And as far as the decision? He's admitting that he can't win in Cleveland. Even though he's the self-proclaimed "king" and has basically been running the franchise since he came into the league.

Jordan never ran away from Chicago; Kobe hasn't run away from the Lakers.

I really hope the guy never wins a title.

for reference, jordan didnt win a title his first six years in chicago, same as lebron in cleveland. jordan didnt run and duck for cover away from the pistons and celtics.

So let me get this right.

Lets say you are in a foreign country with your wife and daughter and you are kidnapped by terrorist. Though they say they are not going to hurt you, kind of know that they probably are. So when they rape your wife and daugther and declare it on TV, because "you knew it was coming" that makes OK!??!??!

Just curious. The issue is that since FA came in all sports we have had the rise of the the selfish Diva. I understand that, James took it to a whole knew level. In the eyes of the Cleveland fans it was like watching your kid get shot by terrorist on TV! A bit extreme of course but if I was a Cleveland fan I would be extremely bitter and angry.

Of course Lebron can't relate with the reaction. He has been a idolized since he was a kid. Make a kid a millionaire before he is 20 and your going to spoil him, make him mutli millionaire and worship him, your going to spoil him rotten.

The point is we make WAY TOO MUCH of our sports. Kind of like the Romans did in their waning days.

I think this will hurt the NBA overall, it just creates more haves and have nots! Thats a growing problem in this country a serious one actually.

I think the most applicable analogy would be this is like taking your long time girlfriend out to a fancy restaurant to break up with her.

Breaking up with her doesn't make you a dirtbag. You were just ready to move on and it's too bad she felt stronger than you did. Don't take her in public and crush her in public. You go to her place and break up with her and let her handle the PR with her friends and family in her own fashion.

Remember when Brad Pitt left Jennifer Aniston for Angelina Jolie? Aniston is the girl next door, is really pretty and the 'home team.' Everyone sees the draw in Angelina Jolie: she's smoking hot, a big freak and probably does stuff you never dreamed of.

When Brad Pitt made the move, imagine that he went on 60 Minutes and spent an hour talking about how hot Jolie is. How great she is in bed. How much of a freak she is.

Probably wouldn't have been received as well as it was. There are still people that don't like Pitt for that move (every Friends fan ever) but people get it. If Pitt went on 60 Minutes to talk about what a good lay Jolie is, he would have instantly become the most hated man in Hollywood.
