The Suns, according to the Republic, have agreed to send guard Leandro Barbosa and forward Dwayne Jones to the Raptors for Turkoglu, who badly wants a move after a rough first season with Atlanta.

In the second deal, Phoenix will acquire Childress in a sign-and-trade with the Hawks, who still hold Childress' rights after the restricted free agent spent the last two seasons in Greece. The Republic reported that Childress has agreed to a five-year, $34 million contract with the Suns, who will use a portion of the trade exception created in Friday's Stoudemire sign-and-trade with New York to absorb Childress' contract.

From that article:

The moves are intriguing for a variety of reasons, starting with the fact that Turkoglu will serve as a very different starting power forward than Stoudemire, with ballhandling ability that could potentially lessen the wear-and-tear absorbed by Steve Nash in running the Suns' offense.

LOL wut? Turkeyglue is in no way, shape or form a power forward. Are they letting the interns write for them again?

So I guess the Suns are going to continue to stand around the arc and lob up 3's all day. No surprise here.

They still won't be the same without Amare.

PG: Nash/Dragic
SG: Richardson/Childress
SF: Turkeyglue/Hill
PF: Frye/Warrick
C: Lopez (the sucky one, not the good one that plays for the Nets)

I'm not sure it will be possible to suck more on defense than they already do. Also, they will most definitely break the record for most threes made and launched in a season.

That is a pretty scary offensive team. Turk will fit perfectly into that style. Childress I'm not so sure about. He's althetic as hell but he's not quite the shooter. I wonder if they think he can rebound like the Matrix used to.

I think they think he will slash/pass/set people up like Diaw did.
