You people can think what you want, but Van Gundy and I think the Heat are the best team in the NBA.

Two years ago, the Lebrons won 66 games.

Why not 7 more with D Wade and Bosh?

They do have a strong enough team around LBJ. It is possible if they stay healthy.

To clarify, I don't think they will win 72 games. Neither does Van Gundy. He just said that they have a realistic shot of pulling it off.

I do think they are the best team in the league. I think they have at least a 50/50 shot at winning the title.

The Lebron's won 66 games, but the East was terrible that year. They should be the best team in that conference this year, but they'll also more than likely have 2 other 50+ win teams in their division & Boston & Chicago should also be 50+ win type teams as well. That's a lot better competition than 08-09.

They aren't winning 70+.

And if Bosh misses his career average of around 11 games, Orlando won't be far behind them.

Yeah, they will 72+ games...on Dynasty Mode on NBA 2K11. No way they win 72 games with the talent level the way it is. I'm not knocking the 3 Miamigos but I don't even think they'll represent the East in the NBA Finals. I think they are the 3rd best team in the league at best. (Both the Lakers and Celtics had great offseasons)

Not to mention: JVG is the same guy who said that LAMAR ODOM is to Kobe what Pippen was to Jordan. It's obvious the guy is delusional

Celtics had a great offseason?

Yes, I do believe the Celtics had a decent off-season. They re-signed Pierce and Ray Allen while getting stronger up front by adding the 2 O'Neals. While Shaq isn't the dominating force he used to be and may be a greater entertainer than NBA player it will still make a difference.

What I'm saying is no one was able to get past the Lakers in the West because nobody had the height up front to match Gasol, Odom, or Bynum. Celtics also got bigger.

I can see the Heat absolutely tearing it up in the regular season.

I do not see them winning a title.

Their bigs consist of:
Chris Bosh
Joel Anthony
Udonis Haslem
Juwan Howard
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Jamaal Magloire
Dexter Pittman
Shavlik Randolph
Jarvis Varnado

Obviously they have some cuts to make, but there isn't much there outside of Bosh unless Varnado gets signed and makes a big impact. The Lakers, Celtics, or Magic would pound that lineup.
