so early fantasy rankings have pretty consensus
1. Durant
2. Paul
3. James

I didn't think James value would take that big a drop, I love watching Durant but I don't think he can score his way to top overall fantasy value, James takes maybe a 20-30% hit in scoring tops but I don't see his production in other areas going down enough to drop him to #3, you don't come by such consistent reb/ast/stl/blk/% contribution from anyone else and his minutes my actually increase

one thing for sure I'd love to draw the #3 pick and have him fall to me

Betcha other than points, all of Lebron's stats are up this year.

I wonder how Stoudemire will do with D'Antoni but no Nash.

Durant's value is in PTS, REB, 3PM, FG%, and FT%. He's deserving of the number one spot. LeBron falls to two, in my opinion.

Last year in the regular season it was a virtual tie in points (keeping in mind that Durant didn't get his .4 ppg edge until late in the season when OKC was still fighting for a spot), rebounds, minutes, turnovers, and blocks.

Lebron had the edge in FG% and steals, and blew Durant out of the water on assists (8.6 to 2.8), which means he wins either assists or A/T ratio by a huge margin, whichever one your league uses.

Durant had a solid lead on FT% and an edge on 3pt%.



The question here isn't who was better last year; the answer on that one is pretty clearly Lebron. The question is will Durant improve, and will Miami be good or bad for Lebron's numbers. Might as well throw out historical numbers.

Of course, if you want to track potential improvement... Stephen Curry and Tyreke Evans put up prodigious fantasy numbers last year as rookies. Either one of them could push top 5 with a little improvement.
