Sorry folks. Splitter is Oberto 2.0. I've said it all along, and Manu's tone in this interview says it all to me....Splitter is not going to make much of a splash.

The Spurs don't need another scorer in the post as long as Tim's still here. A smart, defensive-minded big is exactly what they need.

And while he is more comparable to Fab, he's more athletic and has a MUCH more polished post game.

I don't know where you are getting that. I've seen the guy play and I've watched the YouTube clips and he looks exactly like Fab in terms of "polish".

I have as well. He as an ugly, but efficient jump hook. He also has much better foot work than Fab.

Also, he will be great in transition.

Fab is a decent comparison if all you have is argentinians to compare him to. I'm pretty sure Manu meant it as a compliment. Splitter looks to be similar in Fab in some ways. He seems to be a smart player with a good feel for offensive and defensive positioning. I believe he does have a little better offensive game and I'm positive that's he's bigger and more athletic. We'll see a lot of dunks this year off the Manu/Splitter pick and role.

Didn't Fab go like 11-11 in fg in a playoff game once? I'll take that kind of efficiency next to Timmy D any day of the week!
