Richard Jefferson looks like he might contribute this year

He's played well in the 1st 3 games. Not many turnovers, scoring points, and getting a few assists and rebounds.

Of course, he might start sucking again, but right now he seems to be proving right the people who say that players struggle in Pop's system for the first year before turning it on.

He looks like he's leaner this year, which will help. He was just too bulky last season and couldn't move.

I think it helps a lot to have a couple of young guys competing for playing time right behind Jefferson. He's going to have to keep playing well in order to keep the kids off the court.

I scooped him up in my fantasy league. So far it has been a good decision.

He earned a great deal of respect with me for taking a pay cut, working his tail off to develop skills that will serve him well in Pop's system, and then getting off to a quick start. He went from a guy I couldn't care less about to a player I'm really pulling for (as an indivual). Really hope he has a great year, though I don't think the Spurs are legit contenders either way.
